Hello everyone, I want to share some knowledge about what I learned in week 1 about the hospitality market and social media subjects in my college. I learned four unique characteristics of services in the tourism marketing environment chapter. 1. Intangibility; 2. Inseparability; 3. Heterogeneity; 4. Perishability. I learned that good services are important for restaurants. If servers have inappropriate behavior toward guests, then guests will not be enjoyed and satisfied. Even though restaurants have unbeatable meals, having bad services makes it worse. That's why the server should provide the best service to all customers for their satisfaction and for their happy meal.

My latest article has been published in Enlightening Tourism, a Scopus-listed journal from the Universidad de Huelva. This research explores the role of local ingredients in the Hungarian rural hospitality system, analyzing both the benefits and challenges of their use in restaurant settings. The findings provide valuable insights into the structural barriers that can hinder the effective integration of local products in restaurant operations. https://lnkd.in/dAZ3buh3

Excellent article by scott wright. Some supplementary thoughts below We also need a Scottish Government ( of any persuasion) - who doesn’t just say they are pro hospitality, they actually do something tangible to demonstrate this. To the best of my knowledge, *direct & indirect taxes are significant lower in most of mainland Europe. * those that have LEZ ( not many) worked in tandem with the affected local businesses BEFORE it became policy * Licensing/permit laws aren’t pro venue. As an example, it’s absolutely ludicrous that a music city like Glasgow has a general 11pm curfew ( earlier in places for outside gigs) in live music venues. I went to see Springsteen in Milan recently. He came on at 9pm finished at midnight. On same tour , he came on in Edinburgh before 7pm. * on above note, it would of course be crazy to extend licensing laws to later when there is no actual way to get home on public transport post 11pm ( earlier on a Sunday) * Lastly. It’s not SGs fault we are not in EU. However, the ripples from this happening are still rolling through hospitality ( esp cost of goods and availability of good chefs, GMs etc). SG either don’t realise this, or do realise it but don’t care enough to intervene positively. ( but did intervene to try and put DRS into Scotland). #context #scotland #hospitality

☕️Your morning coffee read ☕️ Does Scotland need to get better at promoting its incredible food and drink offering, on the ground? A must read by scott wright in today’s The Herald Scotland ‘However, when it comes to promoting our food and drink on the ground in Scotland, there is arguably much less obvious messaging about local goods in our restaurants and bars. Sure, there are scores of high-quality outlets and chefs that do champion Scottish produce on their menus, but it is far less widespread than in the teeming streets of Porto and Lisbon, where there are far fewer restaurant chains and the promotion of the local dishes is very much the order of the day, no matter the size of the business.’ https://lnkd.in/e-UC4ZwU #FoodTourism #ScottishTourism #ScotlandFoodAndDrink #FoodTourismStrategy #FoodTourismActionPlan
