Every night, I check on the kids to ensure they haven't kicked their blankets off their beds. As I do so and gaze at their peaceful, innocent faces (quite different from their daytime selves), I always feel a pang of regret, thinking I could have been a better dad. I should have done better. Yet, the next day, I often find myself repeating the same mistakes, failing to live up to the father I want to be for my kids. After numerous setbacks and repeated failures, I developed an analysis and framework that truly helped me stay on the right track, rather than derail. Today, I'm going to share this valuable framework with you. I hope it can assist you in becoming a better dad than you were yesterday, or at the very least, inspire you to become 1% better each day. Our Mind and Soul Anatomy: You become what you eat, and the same applies to your mind and soul. If you feed your mind with positivity, your soul will radiate positivity. Conversely, if your mind is filled with hate, jealousy, and selfishness, your soul will be influenced by these negative qualities and output the corresponding behaviour and life choice. The soul is often associated with the seat of emotions, consciousness, and the moral and ethical dimensions of a person, which can be described as 'output.' The mind, on the other hand, encompasses the cognitive aspects of a person, such as thoughts, reasoning, decision-making, and consciousness, which you can 'input' into yourself. So how do we apply this to our daily life?

Apply the tactic of babies and toddlers is this week’s Thursday Tip. The keys to this winning strategy? In marketing speak: Have a goal with a flexible deadline. I’ll elaborate. At some point, we forget to think like a child. They know what they want. And they don’t stop until they obtain it. Babies use incessant crying. Toddlers repeat words until you give in. All the while, they stay focused on what they want. It worked for my daughter. She’s wanted to be a dancer all her almost 4 years. It’s been her goal, her dream. We missed getting her into the Fall class. It didn’t phase her. We reset the goal. She didn’t let go of her dream. Last night, her dream came true. This look of pure joy on her face, The ear-to-ear smile during her first class, It was worth it all. Her smile will be even bigger when we hit our family business’s goal by the end of 1st quarter. When Daddy can work in our business full time. We missed our goal of end of December 2023. No big. We just reset. So what drives you? What burns your midnight oil? Wakes you up out of bed with purpose? What will put that childlike look of victory on your face? #ThursdayTips #NeverMissAMoment #GoalSetting P.S. They say we become like who we hang out with. If more parents associate with their kids, will we gain back tenacity? Remember how to dream? Join the conversation. Share your thoughts 👇
