When designing skateparks it’s important to have a clear understanding and feel for what you’re going for. So, sometimes, you’d skate the different obstacles in your mind before putting them down on paper. In this case in Netphen, I’d imagined this exact trick for the small bump-to-manual ledge. Being able to translate it into reality after the park is completed feels surreal. #skateparkdesign #skateparknetphen #lndskt

"Why Blue? The Story Behind Project Navify's Color Choice" 🌊 Colors aren't just about aesthetics—they tell a story, evoke emotions, and communicate purpose. When my team (shoutout to Mayowa Falowo and Adesola Olasode) and I sat down to choose the color for Project Navify, we didn’t just want a hue that looked good; we wanted a color that embodied the very essence of our mission. The Power of Blue Blue is more than just a color; it's a feeling. It's the color of the sky and the ocean, symbolizing trust, calm, and reliability. These are exactly the qualities we want Navify to represent—a reliable tool that guides users through the often chaotic world of city traffic with calm efficiency. As we continue to develop Navify, we want every interaction with our platform to feel intuitive, stress-free, and, most importantly, dependable—just like the color blue. The Process Choosing blue wasn't an overnight decision. We spent time understanding what our users needed most—trust in our system, clarity in the navigation process, and a sense of calm amidst the hustle and bustle of city life. Blue captured all these emotions perfectly, making it the ideal choice for Navify. We’re excited to continue this journey, and we’re confident that, like the color blue, Navify will be a guiding force, bringing clarity and peace of mind to all its users. What colors resonate with you, and why? I'd love to hear your thoughts—let’s keep the conversation going! #ProjectNavify #ColorStory #DesignThinking #Teamwork #Blue #TrafficManagement #Innovation

Let's admit it, physical signs can often be confusing. Whether it's due to information overload or poor design, they sometimes miss the mark. Take the sign captured in the photo below, found on an up ramp in a Wellington CBD car park. Attempting to simplify the instruction, they've ended up complicating things. Here's what's wrong: Reinventing the wheel: Instead of using familiar road signs and/or road markings, they've created their own sign, adding unnecessary complexity. Misleading colour: Blue typically signifies mandatory instructions in health and safety signage, so the white arrow in a blue circle suggests "keep left," which is contrary to the sign's intention. Information overload: With too much lettering, drivers don't have time to read this. Their attention is drawn to the arrow in the circle, which actually means "go left." This car park sign is just one example of poorly executed signage we encounter everywhere. That's where WiseNav steps in as a game-changer. No more struggling with sign design; its photo navigation offers clear instructions without the need for text. However, text is available in multiple languages if desired. This is the future of wayfinding! Interested to learn how WiseNav can help you, get in touch. navigation@wisestudios.co.nz #WiseNav #Navigation #Wayfinding #WayMaking
