Some of our teams were away in Canada last week, showcasing some of our most innovative ideas... They attended the International Water Association (IWA) World Water Congress in Toronto, and shared some of our ideas with other delegates, such as MoWBI - which is a mobile device to help keep customers in supply in the event of a burst. Our very own Libby also hosted a Women in Water panel session, which gave some great insight into the opportunities for women in STEM across the sector. Well done guys!

Today, March 8, 2024, is International Women’s Day, spearheaded by the United Nations the theme is 'Invest in women: Accelerate progress”. Women have triumphed in the fight for the right to vote, have equal access to education, and hold positions of leadership in politics, representing strength and power. Beside these advancements, women continue to confront significant barriers and this year's theme is addressing a key challenge: the alarming $360 billion annual deficit in gender-equality measures by 2030. The Official UN International Women’s Day commemoration will be held in the ECOSOC Chamber and live streamed from 10:00 am to 11:30 am EST. Interesting fact, in 1984, Australia introduced the world’s first Women’s Budget Statement, which paved the way for many others to follow suit. Let's unite for women all around the world #InvestInWomen.

Happy Women's Day South Africa! As we celebrate this significant day, let us reflect on the powerful lessons from our history and why this day remains vital in our hearts: *Strength in Unity: The 1956 Women's March showed us that when women come together, they can achieve the impossible. It’s a reminder that our strength lies in our unity. *The Power of a Voice: The women of 1956 didn't just march—they spoke out against injustice. Today, we are reminded to use our voices to stand against inequality, wherever it may arise. *Breaking Barriers: The courage of the past generations empowers us to break the barriers that still exist today, in all spheres of life, be it in the boardroom, in our communities, or in our homes. *The Role of Leadership: These women led by example, showing that leadership isn’t about titles but about the impact and change you bring. They inspire us to lead with purpose and passion. *Never Forget Our History: We celebrate this day to honor those who came before us and to ensure that the sacrifices made are never forgotten. Their fight is a reminder that we must continue to strive for a future where all women are free and equal. To the incredible women of South Africa—your strength, courage, and relentless pursuit of equality continue to inspire us all. Happy Women’s Day! May we carry the legacy forward with pride and determination. #WomensDay2024
