*Action Needed* The House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee has proposed to cut funding for the APEX Accelerator program by nearly 60% in FY2025. On June 13th, the Full House Appropriations Committee debated and passed the FY25 defense funding bill on a party-line vote of 34-25. There were no amendments or public discussions about the APEX Accelerator program. This bill now goes to the House floor for debate later this month or in July. If we have assisted you in any way, we are hoping that you would consider reaching out to your Congressional Office to let them know of the proposed cut and the negative impact on your business and others in Pennsylvania. DoD Proposed Rule -- ASSESSING CONTRACTOR IMPLEMENTATION OF CYBERSECURITY REQUIREMENTS: On 8/15/24, United States Department of Defense released the proposed rule updating Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Clause 252.204-7021 which, when final, will initiate the phased implementation of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification 2.0 (#CMMC) requirements into DoD contracts. The Clause will require every defense contractor that handles Federal Contract Information (FCI) or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) to assess & certify compliance with select CMMC security requirements.
