A new report published by the IPPR and Save the Children titled "Childcare Challenges" recommends reform of the early years and childcare system. Along with an improved funding system, a workforce strategy and reformed SEND system, the report warns that childminder numbers could dwindle to a handful by 2033, and recommends: - A new national strategy on childminders; - Monthly funding payments; - “Wind down” of the agency model; - Annual quality assurance visits between inspections; - A childminder friendly national digital platform. Helen Donohoe, PACEY Chief Executive said: "Our sector and its dedicated professionals, including childminders, have been neglected for too long. As this report demonstrates, that can no longer be ignored." Read our full response on our website: https://bit.ly/4irBuEo
