L-REX is an accelerator that simulates scooping on the Moon minding the energy consumption. Environment simulation, multi-body dynamics was done in NVIDIA Isaac Sim. Real-time perception, robot control implemented via ROS2. Terramechanics for scoop-terrain force calculation done using PDEs in Modelica, Modelica Association. Robot was created in SOLIDWORKS. 🤖 New way of manufacturing sheet metal: Robo-forming This video talks about a new way of manufacturing sheet metal called Robo-forming. It is basically using robots and artificial intelligence to shape metal sheets. This technology could revolutionize the way many things are made. Traditionally, sheet metal forming has been done with stamping presses. These presses are expensive and can only make one specific shape. Robo-forming, on the other hand, is much more flexible. Robots can be programmed to make a wide variety of shapes, and they can be easily reprogrammed to make new ones.
