GEM Energy congratulates Northwood Local Schools on the addition of its new solar array! There was plenty of sunshine to be had this morning when the district cut the ribbon for the 296 kW (714-panel) solar array, which will eventually supply 35 to 40 percent of the district’s needs. Flanked by fifth-graders and high school students on Northwood’s homecoming day, Superintendent Jason Kozina says the district is excited about the educational possibilities as much as it is about saving money on its energy bill. The district’s solar open house also featured a presentation and question-and-answer session for students in the gym. The array was installed by #GEMEnergy, a Rudolph Libbe Group Company based in Walbridge.
