This API circumvents any auditing or business rules set up in the environment and should not be used in regular scripting. I can only recall one instance where we had to use this API, and that too after getting prior approval from the ServiceNow support team on solving a very unique case.🙂
GlideMultipleUpdate('tablename') - This will update all records that follow the query set. This does not touch the system fields (sys_updated_on, sys_updated_by, etc.) and this is the difference between .updateMultiple() and GlideMultipleUpdate.

Platforms separate operational control from user control. In the past these were linked - the DBA running your database would control changes by asking you to file a ticket. Or you'd do it all yourself, foregoing any scale effects and governance. I never expected #PlatformStrategy to be littered with 2x2 matrices, but they best explain the decoupling of previous assumptions. I made a final edit pass over Parts I and II to simplify some concepts and add visuals. Have a look: https://lnkd.in/g9YnnhM

Hi All, Good Morning! #PI SNAPSHOT SUBSYSTEM# The PI Snapshot Subsystem has three major responsibilities: 1)Store the events with the most recent timestamps, the snapshots, for all tags on the PI server. 2)Compress incoming events from data sources if the events have timestamps that are more recent than the events stored in the snapshot table. 3)Store the compressed events in the event queues (EVQ Writer) until PI Archive Subsystem (EVQ Reader) can retrieve the events. The PI Snapshot Subsystem processes these events and moves them to the snapshot table and event queues in memory. However, to ensure that these events persist even if the PI Snapshot Subsystem process is stopped, they are periodically flushed to disk.
