Tools that empower people to realise their ideas and creativity are, I find, incredibly exciting. 💡 Forgive me if I'm behind the curve on this, but today I opened an email from Google, and the following caught my attention.... 👀 "What this means for your organization With Gemini in AppSheet, Workspace users can easily build mobile and desktop apps by describing a business process or idea. " 😮 In simple terms "Gemini" is Google's suite of AI models, and "AppSheet" is a no-code app builder. 🔍 The email tells me from the 6th September 24, we will be able to build our own apps, by describing our idea to the tool in our natural language. The image below gives an example of this. 🚀 Often there's a technical barrier between our ideas and their creation, which requires the time and resources of a third technical party, but now AI is blurring those lines. 🚧 It is tantalising to consider that we are racing towards a reality where realising and testing our ideas will be as easy as describing them to your Mum over a brew. ☕ That's still not to say they will be any good - any more than if I picked up a lump of clay and tried to mould a new interpretation of a vase - but at least I haven't got to spend years trying to figure out the language of the clay before even picking it up. 😂 It feels like the craft of creating is being brought into the current era and the playing field of who's ideas get a shot at success is becoming more level. ✨ The biggest barrier will soon just be ourselves to have the confidence and inclination to experiment with these tools.
