Nova Systems International’s Post

Tom Dutton, one of our P3M Consultant, recently toured HMS Talent - a mid-decommissioning Trafalgar-class nuclear #submarine – in Plymouth, alongside members of UKFutureNEST. UKFutureNEST is a growing and diverse network of young professionals from across the UKNEST organisation (of which Nova is a member). It offers some opportunities for early-career development, workshopping, and networking across the Naval, Civil and Maritime sector. As well as his role at Nova, Tom is also Deputy Chair of UKFutureNEST. “This position gives me the opportunity to not only extend my own network, but to take a lead in organising events with my peers in the UKNEST community, such as visiting HMS Talent,” he said. “Our visit to HMS Talent included a tour of the submarine – where I was able to get a first-hand look the decommissioning process, the reactor, and other key elements of submarine maintenance and engineering – and was followed by two workshops with rest of the 26 strong cohort from UKFutureNEST. “The fact I was given the time to plan and deliver such a day out is testament to Nova’s trust in me to continue my personal development in such an exciting, genuinely unique way.” #WeAreNova
