SUITz Tokyo, a Climate Tech incubator, has embraced 15 startups from abroad and 10 ventures from Japan into its acceleration initiative. All participants will explore avenues for co-creating new business ventures, engage in pitch and reverse pitch events, connect with corporates and venture capital, and participate in industry webinars and other activities. That's why the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in 2023 launched its very own SUITz Tokyo accelerator and incubator, a platform that supports domestic and foreign Climate Tech startups that seek strategic partnerships. Swedish agtech startup, OlsAro, has raised €2.5M in seed funding to develop AI-powered, climate-resilient wheat varieties. The funding round was led by Future Food Fund and PINC, with participation from AgFunder, FLORA Ventures, Mudcake, and previous investors. OlsAro specializes in developing new wheat varieties using AI-enabled crop development to improve yield and adapt to challenging environmental conditions such as salt, heat, and drought. The funding will support team growth, tech advancement, and market entry in regions with high soil salinity. Their innovative wheat varieties could improve global food security by enabling farming on previously unusable land. The company also plans to research heat-tolerant and nitrogen-efficient wheat varieties. With this investment, OlsAro aims to expand its reach to markets like Australia and India.
