If this post is going to annoy the companies hiring creatives, I apologise in advance. I want to let them know that skill sets like Video Editing and Motion Graphics are another field of study, that is not 100% relevant to Graphic Design. If you really want to hire a Graphic Designer who have such "additional" skill sets, be prepared to pay him or her the salary of a Video Editor + Motion Graphics Designer + Graphic Designer. Don't pay them a fee that only covers one of the skills, as it will look bad on the company instead of the person taking the job with all skill sets. With all the stress involved, the burnt out hired person will be planning to send in their resignation the earliest. Think wisely. Be Reasonable. Be Mindful. Be Demure.

Senior Graphic Designer delivering Visual Identity, Marketing & Brand Development to the Retail Industry
Have you noticed the growing trend in job postings for Senior Graphic Designers that require not just design expertise, but also mastery of animation, video editing, 3D modeling, sound design, and more? It’s as though employers are looking for an entire creative department wrapped up in a single role. While staying versatile and continually evolving our skill sets is important, the demand for expertise in such a wide range of tools and fields—Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, 3D software, and beyond—is simply unrealistic. Each of these disciplines takes years of specialized practice to master. It's even more disheartening when these hybrid roles come with compensation that doesn’t reflect the breadth of expertise being demanded, ultimately devaluing the creative industry. We should be encouraging specialization, recognizing the value that each creative discipline brings to the table, and ensuring roles are fairly compensated for the skills required. Let’s work towards an industry that respects the craft and the professionals who fuel it. #CreativeIndustry #GraphicDesign #Designers #FairCompensation #RespectCreatives

When did graphic designers become motion designers and animators? They were always different disciplines to me, but I'm seeing more and more job postings asking for graphic designers to have motion/animation design experience. I can see motion designers needing graphic design knowledge (typography, form, composition, etc), but do graphic designers REALLY need to know how to animate?? Wouldn't companies benefit by hiring people who specialize in motion design and animation to work in collaboration with art directors and designers? ... or do I need to start taking motion design classes??? Thoughs?

Exactly. I provide elegant and professional #visualgraphics and #graphiccommunications. Yes, I work with my photographer to capture requested images. But I’m not a photographer. Yes, I create corporate videos but videography is performed by my videographer. Yes, I design a variety of graphics and work with artists, but I’m not an artist. I pull all of these components and redesign into client and branded assets. I provide #creativesolutions and specialize in #visual and #graphic #communications. @the pipeline strategies #strategicresources #peoplestrategies #creativesolutions

Graphic Designers Are for G-R-A-P-H-I-C-S! Let's set the record straight: graphic designers specialize in graphics. So, when job postings come through with requirements like: - Video editing skills - Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro - UX/UI skillset - Animation knowledge - copywriter - 3d artist - CGI and VFX background will be plus It's time to pause and rethink. We are not superhumans, nor are we robots! Sure, the industry evolves, and it's beneficial to know the basics to collaborate effectively and understand team jargon. But expecting expertise in all these areas? That's simply not fair. Graphic design is a profound field with numerous niches. These overloaded requirements are scaring away talented designers because we fear not meeting these unrealistic expectations. Focus on what we do best—graphics! You'll attract and retain top talent by valuing our specialized skills. #designers #linkendindesigners #graphicdesign #graphicdesigners #humanresources #hr, #jobinterviews #hiringandpromotion #jobalert #nowhiring, #job #gethired #Copied #jobopening #jobfair #recruiting #jobopening, #hiring, #joinourteam, #jobs #jobhirin, #remotework #jobsearch #jobsearching #jobseekers #workingathome #hire
