East Kentucky Power Cooperative generates more than half of its electricity from power plants that would be affected by the Environmental Protection Agency’s power plant rule. If the rule goes into effect, the communities that rely on EKPC are likely to find themselves with less reliable power or without the means to pay for it, or both. Put another way, this coop generates more than half of its power from plants that are damaging public health and emitting dangerously polluting greenhouse gas that need regulating. Since renewable resources combined with storage provide cheaper alternatives, perhaps follow the example of Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. and work for a better future!? Not defend a toxic past.

Capturing and sequestration are the two steps. I don’t know of formations in the east for sequestration. Pretty hard to fathom anything remotely possible for the EPA rule not shuttering the economy.
