Today marks the end of the 16 days of Activism against gender-based violence. It is also International Human Rights Day! Women’s Rights are Human Rights! This includes the right to be free of discrimination, physical, sexual and psychological harm, threats, coercion, deprivation of liberty, and the right to enjoy the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health; to be educated; to own property; to vote; and to earn equal pay for equal work. This year’s theme for Human Rights Day is 'Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,' which highlights the impact of human rights on people's lives every day. What we do today can also shape tomorrow! "Our World Still Cries Out for Justice, Equality, and Inclusion." On this Human Rights Day, let us confront the urgent need for action. Human rights are not just ideals, they are the foundation of a world where everyone can thrive. Yet, the path to this vision has been fraught with misunderstanding. For centuries, power dictated who had rights, creating systems of inequality that persist today. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 was a turning point, declaring that all humans are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Our world desperately needs this promise to be realized. Let’s honor this day by committing to justice, equality, and inclusion for all—because a better world is built on the foundation of human rights. #HumanRightsDay #JusticeForAll #EqualityNow

✨ Today is Human Rights Day!✨ On December 10th, we unite globally to reaffirm the universal rights and freedoms that belong to every individual. This year’s theme, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,” reminds us that protecting human rights is not just about the past or the future—it’s about action today. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted 75 years ago, continues to guide us toward a more equitable and just world. It’s a living document that empowers us to address challenges like inequality, injustice, and discrimination in the present, paving the way for a brighter future. We are committed to advancing equity, inclusion, and justice while amplifying the voices of women of color in peace and security. We believe that when we protect human rights today, we create a stronger tomorrow. Let’s act together to uphold human rights for everyone, everywhere. https://lnkd.in/gXJPPJq https://lnkd.in/gwzYN_iF https://lnkd.in/gEvhWEe #WCAPS #HumanRightsDay #UDHR75 #StandUp4HumanRights
