PGL continues to make huge investments into esports after the tournament organizer announced its plans to host more than 10 CS2 tournaments in the next 2 years. This decision was made in relation to changes to Counter-Strikes competitive regulations that would effectively end partnered leagues within the scene, something PGL referenced in their announcement saying: "After eight years, following the new rules that won't allow tournament organizers to partner with teams starting with January 1st, 2025, PGL is set to organize Tier 1 and non-major Counter-Strike 2 tournaments. Due to a prevailing monopoly, this endeavor was unattainable until January 1st, 2025. Thanks to the CS2 licensing rules that enable any tournament organizer to host events and the prohibition of conflicts of interest between event organizers and teams, PGL can pave the way for more diverse and competitive CS2 events." Overall, along with PGL's plans to host at least 8 Dota 2 events in the next 3 years, it's clear that the organizers are set for a very busy next few years. #esports #tournaments #events #planning #CS2 #akshon #akshonesports

Connecting Brands to Gamers | Profound Expertise in Esports Business, Player, Organization, and Influencer Marketing | Former World Champion General Manager for eUnited & Professional Call of Duty Player
This needs more attention. Orchestrating collegiate executives to help spearhead esports discussions is no easy feat. Whether it's two executives collaborating or ten, we should be thankful large collegiate universities are discussing ways to elevate their sector in the industry. I still foresee more professional players being recruited to prominent Universities over the next three to five years. Professional players who don't have the skillset to transfer to operations, business, marketing, sales, etc., can return to school and get a degree while continuing to lean on their competitive passions. I also anticipate more sponsorship dollars to migrate to collegiate esport programs as they field talent that can push more viewership, storylines, and intertwine the community focus most schools are already enriched with.
The Voice of Intercollegiate Esports (VOICE) has unveiled its Presidents Advisory Council, which includes the heads of major universities in America. The council will meet to identify issues in the collegiate esports industry and then work with VOICE to publish suggestions. https://lnkd.in/ecy-8G6x

In recent years, online competition has become the standard for tournaments and circuits in esports. They are easy to set up, cheaper to produce and more accessible to players and teams but it still pales in comparison to what an offline event can deliver in pure hype and passion. In Split 2 of VALORANT Challengers North: Polaris we introduced player cams, which instantly felt like an upgrade to our broadcast quality. Player cams make it so much easier for players to show their personalities and create awesome moments like this clip below. We can never replace offline events and never should replace them, but we can always find ways to make online competitions a little more enjoyable to viewers.
