While some countries, like Germany, are finding incredible success from adopting the 4-day workweek, others, such as Hungary, are receiving an intense enough pushback to abandon trials of the new working framework. Of the key reasons cited, it seems as though the decision-making was relegated to the boards of the adopting companies, rather than any wider cultural reason. I think this is a reminder as to why a 4-day work week needs institutional support coming from other areas in order to gain widespread support. Good to hear these results show positive productivity gains can be maintained within a 4 day working week. The challenges are: 1.
