For 20 years, the Women Builders Council has opened doors wider for women in the building industry. Through WBC's #AmbassadorsCouncil, the organization is championing emerging women leaders from every sector of the industry – public, private, and institutional – and in every position – from entrepreneurs to project managers. Through its new #MentorshipProgram, the Ambassadors Council encourages women to grow and thrive by pairing members with senior industry leaders. The Mentor-Mentee relationship is energized and synergistic – enabling seasoned professionals to share with emerging leaders, each learning from one another. Effective mentorship is reciprocal. Renee Sacks, Ph.D., and Natalie J. Salinas of Nth Consulting Group offer new opportunities to learn and build a dynamic mentoring relationship. "A mentor relationship enables both professionals to see talents and abilities that each may not see in themselves, but when working together, bring out the best in each other," says Sacks and Salinas. Together, they aim to learn from each other, foster mutual growth and development, and share their knowledge with others. At Nth Consulting Group, we believe #mentoringmatters. I'm excited to be attending the Cambridge Rising Women Leaders Programme at the Cambridge Judge Business School this November! 🎉I look forward to applying what I learn at Cambridge to the sports marketing industry, helping to drive innovation and foster greater diversity. A few thoughts on my industry and why it's important to have programs like the Cambridge Rising Women Leaders Programme for women from all sectors: The sports marketing field remains male-dominated, with women underrepresented in leadership roles. A 2021 study found that only 28% of senior-level marketing positions across major sports leagues were held by women. Companies with gender-diverse leadership teams tend to outperform their peers financially, and this holds true in sports marketing as well, where diverse perspectives can drive innovation and better connect with diverse fan bases — including the female base — who influence over 70% of household purchasing decision. Leadership programs tailored for women in sports marketing can help address unique challenges we face, such as gender biases, lack of mentorship, and difficulties in networking and sponsorship opportunities traditionally dominated by men. Mentorship from experienced female leaders in sports marketing is invaluable for developing the next generation of women leaders in this field. Programs that facilitate mentoring relationships can be highly impactful and I am grateful that Cambridge offers this opportunity! What are your thoughts on increasing gender diversity in sports marketing leadership? #Leadership #WomenInBusiness #DEI #ProfessionalDevelopment #CambridgeJudgeBusinessSchool #WomenInLeadership #SportsMarketing #SportsBiz #WomenInSports

I’ll be heading to London later this week ahead of International Women’s Day to deliver a keynote speech to a sell out audience on mentoring. Mentoring has evolved so much in modern times. Traditionally someone older, more experienced, showing someone more junior and less experienced the ropes. I am wondering how many reading this remember having a mentor way, way back in the day ? I didn’t think I ever had one myself in those early days but when I really thought about the big companies I worked for when I started out - there WAS just that person. It was referred to as “sitting by nelly” back then. Today in my professional career as a mentor it’s usually One to One mentoring, based on role modelling, or in my property business it’s Pier to Pier mentoring and for other organisations I volunteer for it’s Youth mentoring or progression mentoring. I’ll be hoping to encourage other women in senior leadership roles to consider becoming a mentor to someone, to share their knowledge and skills especially to help retain other women within industry. Or even help shape the leaders of tomorrow. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve had a mentor and what your thoughts are. I’d really like to know. Maybe you’ve had more than one in your career ? Did anything stand out about them for you ? #iwd2024 #womeninleadership #womeninproperty #womeninconstruction #womensupportingwomen #womenempoweringwomen #mentoring #mentoringmatters Institute of Government & Public Policy Women In Leadership Conference

Director Of IED | Entrepreneurial Global Ecosystems Builder | Building The African Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
There is an urgent need to identify, support, and build young leaders—men and women with potential but lacking exposure and resources, yet brimming with the promise and ability to lead. Have we structured such support systems in our society? Each day, I wake up to the reality that the leaders we criticize today were once part of our households, our neighbors, and our friends. This realization underscores the importance of investing in the next generation of leaders. Not all young people are brave enough to put themselves out there like me or Emmanuel Nduka Many have the potential but need the right support to step into the spotlight. This is why creating avenues for young people to access mentorship, education, and opportunities is crucial. By doing so, we can ensure that our future leaders are well-equipped to make positive changes in our communities. I, too, am on this journey and recognize that I am not there yet. I need more support to continue growing and making an impact. I'm grateful for those who have continously stood by me Whitney Edna Ibe, Jaûne Odombrown Sharola Akoth Odipo Let's come together to build a society that recognizes and nurtures the potential within our youth. For Overwhelmed, High-Achieving Millennial Women. Create more balance without sacrificing your success.
How you think you should support senior women so they’ll stick around: ⏹ Hosting an International Women’s Day Event, with cupcakes and unpaid speakers ⏹ Throwing them into situations they’re uncomfortable with and unprepared for in the name of building confidence. ⏹ Telling them to find themselves a mentor. How you actually support women in leadership: ✅ Ask the women in your organisation what they need, dive into the data both qualitative and quantitative and build a clear picture of the gaps and opportunities ✅ Focus on organisation-wide cultural change, including workstyles, communication, inclusive leadership, etc. ✅ Implement a programme that supports women with what they need, considering communication, visibility, personal branding, boundaries and which brings together coaching, mentoring, peer support and training. Make women want to stick around because they’re actually supported. #LeadershipDevelopment #ESG #EmotionalIntelligence #WomenInLeadership #PeopleAndCulture ___________________________ I’m Lauren and I talk about women, leadership and confidence. Empowering Women in Leadership: Insights from Todd's Coaching Practice In Todd D. Palmer's coaching practice, where about 50% of his clients are women, he has observed distinct differences in how men and women approach their sessions. Men often come with a clear agenda, ready to tackle specific problems. Women, however, may not always have a precise starting point, leading to more organic and nuanced sessions. This approach allows issues to reveal themselves naturally, fostering sessions that are deeply emotional and vulnerable. Women's inherent "we" focus is critical in creating community and psychological safety within organizations, which is why their presence at the executive table and in male-dominated industries is invaluable. They bring a deeper connection and a sense of belonging that significantly benefits companies. To support women effectively in these roles, Todd must help them show up as their most authentic selves. He emphasizes the importance of creating space for women to feel seen, heard, known, and accepted, recognizing that they have different needs from their male counterparts. For example, when a female CEO felt overwhelmed and reached out to Todd, despite their regular meeting schedule, he made himself available within 48 hours to address her concerns. Their conversation helped shift her from a fixed mindset, overwhelmed by negativity, to a growth mindset where she could recognize and build on her strengths. These interactions highlight the importance of supporting and encouraging women in leadership. Todd believes fostering a culture of accountability and empathy allows women leaders to thrive, enabling them to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities. As we strive to build more inclusive workplaces, let’s ensure that our leadership practices empower everyone, especially the women who bring unique perspectives and strengths. Here’s to nurturing an environment where every leader can excel. #Leadership #WomenInBusiness #ExecutiveCoaching #DiversityAndInclusion #EmpoweringWomen
