The power of great marketing 💪
My wife and I left home yesterday afternoon and began the long drive to Indiana to visit one of our daughters. I had made a hotel reservation at the half-way point, which happened to be Sevierville, TN. As we got closer to the exit for our hotel, I saw numerous signs for a Buc-ee's, Ltd. that just so happened to be located off the same exit. I had never been to one before but I'd heard the stories, none of which was more compelling than my son describing the massive store in Texas he had stopped at with some college football buddies. Naturally I had to pull in, take the picture below, and gas up there! Little did I know that it is the World's Largest Buc-ee's in operation, and boasts these eye-popping stats: 1. 74,707 square feet 2. 120 gas pumps 3. 250-foot long car wash 4. 350 employees Why did I choose to write about visiting a Buc-ee's, Ltd. you might ask? It is an excellent example of the power that great marketing of a niche product can have. Almost as important, the product - both the outside and inside of the store - lived up to the hype! Market yourself & live up to your own hype.

Founder & CEO of SMB Sales & Marketing, a natural & specialty foods brokerage. Experienced sales representation to take your brand to the next level!
I posted about 6 months ago to start a Naturally Florida. After seeing the success of Naturally Network partners Naturally San Diego; Naturally MN; Naturally Boulder and friends that started Naturally New England, I feel the 3rd most populous state should have some representation. We have grocery organizations like the Florida GMR that do a good job down here, but not focused on natural products. It is understood that we don't have a key natural headquarter account here and we're not the first area you think of regarding natural products. However, Whole Foods Market Florida does well and Sprouts Farmers Market is growing here! Thoughts? Should we cast a wider net for all of the Southeast? Location? Well, I'm in Jacksonville, but Orlando is more central. Closer to Miami and Tampa as well! I'm willing to take the lead on this, since I posted about it. The Naturally site suggests starting out as a member of another region. So, what region is looking for an out-of-state interloper as a member? Naturally LA Naturally AustinNaturally Bay Area Naturally North Bay Naturally New York Naturally Chicago Tagging a couple of folks from last post Will Nitze Cherissa Kell Bradley Nauert #brokerlife #sales #naturalproducts #retail #cpg

Before you know it, summer will be here and for my family that means spending a lot of time down at the lake, which also means my son, Thomas (nearly 9 years old), will want to go fishing off the dock. For him the size of the fish didn't matter, to him the most important thing was that he was able to cast by himself and bait the hook by himself but of course catching fish was his goal. Last summer, we didn't count the number of times he cast his line into the water or how many times he had to put new bait on the hook, but with each cast he gained more and more confidence resulting in catching four small fish. But when he least expected it, he caught his biggest fish, a catfish (which is not fun to get off a hook for those who have never had the opportunity to experience), thanks to putting in the work, learning from his mistakes, and taking the coaching that his uncle and I were giving him along the way. Fishing and sales have a lot in common if you think about it. In sales you're going to cast your line more times than you can count and you're going to need to rebait your hook more times than you would like, but with each cast, you should be learning from your mistakes, looking for feedback on how you can improve, and of course honing your skills. #salesenablement #sales #skills

CAUSE AND EFFECT: ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS In this real world, any effect always has a cause or causes, i.e. factors that contribute to a certain outcome. The problems we are seeing now are EFFECTS OF CAUSES that were not addressed or had not been foreseen or just due to plain negligence of our leaders. Increasing government ministry or increasing police force are 'band-aid' solutions which will not alleviate the problems. Here, I will state only few factors or causes of the 'effects' we are seeing now in our major cities: *Vagrancy Act neglected. No control over rural-urban migration *No Strict Act on Population Control or Birthrate, i.e. how many children each parent must have basing on certain criteria they must meet *Poor Census Records (if only we have a proper database of people, the government can align it's resources accordingly) *Poor/No proper urban planning of streets, avenues, towns, cities, etc... *Deeply-rooted Public Servants Corruption (like bribery, Nepotism, Regionalism, Money Laundering, Misappropriation of public funds,etc...). When there is corruption at high level, the people suffer (in terms of less employment opportunities, poor government services, inflation, etc...) so people start to rebel. *Outdated School Curriculum System producing more dropouts than more 'human resources' *Laziness by public servants. We don't need research to confirm this. Just go to any provincial or local government offices and see how the attitude of public servants towards their work. They can come in to work at 10am, go lunch at 12pm-3pm, come back at 3:30pm and go home at 4pm or 5pm. Unlike in the past where we have KIAPS who do patrols, today the public servants they hardly do any 'patrols' to update census and do assessments of communities. NB: This are some factors contributing to the problems, which I believe if addressed, will at least alleviate the problems. If anyone can add on some opinions, please do so. #rootcauseanalysis #cause_and_effects #factors #probles

At my last company, I had a junior colleague named Rehan who was struggling to close sales. He approached sales like hunting, targeting prospects aggressively and pushing for quick wins. I explained to Rehan that sales is more like fishing than hunting. Instead of going after prospects with a single-minded focus, you need to cast a wide net with all your unique selling points (USPs) as hooks. Each prospect is different, and you never know which USP will resonate with them. I told him, "Think of our USPs as different baits. Present all the benefits and features we offer, and let the customer decide which one appeals to them. One of these hooks might just catch their interest and lead to a sale." Rehan took this advice to heart. He started incorporating all our USPs in his pitches, highlighting various aspects of our product that could be valuable to different clients. Over time, he saw a significant improvement in his sales numbers. By shifting his approach from hunting to fishing, he was able to attract and reel in more customers effectively.

Meet Joaquin Urias, National Sales Director. You can find Joaquin in our Texas Border Warehouse location, and he's been leading the way for our sales team and customers since 2015. Before joining Stonehill, Joaquin owned and operated his own company specializing in avocado imports, where he learned about the fruit from its beginnings as a seed, to harvest, and on to the final sale by spending time in Mexico's Michoacán state. When asked what he loves about Stonehill, Joaquin says, "The camaraderie and family-like environment." We're thankful to have Joaquin as part of the Stonehill family! Here are some fun facts to get to know Joaquin: Movie 🎬: Django Sports Team: Green Bay Packers 🏈 Casual Restaurant: Taco Palenque 🌮 Fancy Restaurant 🍽: El Divino Holiday: New Years 🥳 Hobby: Plays pool 🎱 and is in a national league that competes in Vegas! Favorite way to eat avocados 🥑: "Cut in half with salt and lime, and a spoon" Something interesting that not many people know? "One of my biggest passions is aviation, and I am planning on getting my private pilot’s license. Another thing would be that, contrary to popular belief, I have big time stage fright. It’s one of my biggest weaknesses, but I fight through it." Proper Yorkshire Beer Sales & Business Development | Co-Founder of Be Outstanding - Care Quality Software.
My Grandad loved a Yorkshire beer. He loved Yorkshire. He was a master painter & decorator, then a paint sales man and an entrepreneur, owning a health food shop in Scarborough with my Grandma, called, The Good Life, to name one business. When he did the paint sales, He covered a similar patch to me when visiting his customers. He used to say, his job was not about selling paint. He said it was about building relationships. Then the paint sold off the back of that, naturally. He sold a lot of paint! He would have loved what I do now and loved the beer. He would have been so interested in it and asked me questions and given me tips on sales and building relationships. Definitely would have tried a sample! He was a proper Scarborian and Yorkshire man, born and bred. A talented artist and a very friendly chatty man, that knew everyone in the area. And they knew him. He used many of these sayings that we use on our beer. Especially, “Oww Much?!” Thats why I knew this was the job & new career for me. So when I get asked, why have I gone from the care sector to Proper Yorkshire Beer, this is My ‘why’…. Because every time I do this job, every time I go out to meet my customers, or when I laugh about one of these sayings, I think of my hero. My wonderful Grandad, Geoff Jaques. 3rd March 1932 - 4th August 2023 #sales #networking #relationships

4 Winds is perhaps the most spectacular vineyard estate to be publicly listed this year. Bordering Stag's Leap Cellars, this 110-acre property overlooks the entire eastern slope of the acclaimed Stag's Leap AVA. The ultimate private compound in the Napa Valley, it includes an 8,681 sq.ft., Provence-inspired country vineyard estate; a 998 sq.ft. guest cottage; a 1500 sq.ft. caretaker home, and a beautifully finished barrel-laden cave with dining room. The three-acre, state-of-the-art vineyard (with capacity to expand) has been developed by renowned wine maker Thomas Rivers Brown. The estate's fruit is used to create 4 Winds' highly-coveted, small-production wine. The estate is a singular environmental haven employing the most technologically advanced methods of land management. Fully insured, it includes turnkey programs currently securing USDA grants for grazing and fertilization. In addition, a robust wildfire defense system and an infrastructure of spring-fed and well-water systems ensure the ongoing sustainability of the land. 4 Winds is exceptional, impossible to replicate and full of possibilities. https://lnkd.in/gVnbmrzy
