Continuing our journey through Vera's core values, we spotlight a principle that's both a commitment and a mindset: Sustainability. At Vera, Sustainability is twofold – we're dedicated to nurturing our planet and ensuring the longevity of our impact in the social sector. It's about crafting solutions with the future in mind, being mindful of our environmental footprint, and empowering our projects to thrive long-term. Adalto Silva, a Project Manager and member of our Green Team, exemplifies this commitment. Through initiatives like e-waste recycling competitions and sustainability reporting, the Green Team leads our charge towards a more conscious future. "Initiatives like the Green Team show that we take the value of Sustainability seriously. The Green team acts as the leaders of internal change towards sustainability with its formal initiatives like creating a company-wide e-waste recycling competition, piloting a sustainability report for one of the hub offices, and increasing environmental education through channels like the Vera-wide weekly newsletter." #Sustainability #TechForGood #VeraValues

“You can’t manage what you don’t measure”. The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) gathers data from thousands of companies, cities, states and regions to measure their environmental impact on several dimensions such as climate change, water security and deforestation. Inspired by our customers’ strong commitments - from L'Oréal, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., Puig, LVMH, Coty and more - Albéa has joined this common effort, measuring progress, risk and opportunities on these key CSR topics. We have made it to the Climate Change B-list and our ambition is to improve year after year. We are also monitoring the impact of our industrial activity on Water and Forest and are taking action to reduce our footprint. Our teams of packaging experts are proud to operate in a committed sector where collective movement inspires change at a global level. Together, let’s keep contributing to a more responsible and sustainable beauty industry. These stats blew my mind. Visuals are processed 60,000 times faster than text by our brains. The more you can put your brand message into an image, the more chance it will be heard and understood. #socialmediamarketing #marketingtips
The theme of this year's World Environment Day: ‘Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration’. 🌍 When consumers choose products they are increasingly making choices based on a growing concern for the environment and our future. They want a supplier who takes effective action to reduce their impact on the planet not just greenwashing. At Ballingslöv International AB, our parent company, and here at Paula Rosa Manhattan we set stretching targets that push us to make continual improvements to our operations. A few examples of our successes are shown in this short video ⤵ #UKmanufacturing #WorldEnvironmentDay #SHEQ Lee Golby

Professor, Author & Mentor Developing Secure and Reliable Supply Chains for Strategic Renewable Energy Technologies
Nice job, Dazan Fernandes. Your work is illuminating this unstudied area that will eventually become central to the debate over accountability for emissions reductions. While companies could be on the hook for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, consumer behavior may ultimately be more determinative than corporate regulations or policies. While many brains will focus on technical challenges such as hydrogen and energy storage, marketing, messaging, and psychology will also be needed to make supply chains sustainable while delighting consumers with innovative, fun, and sustainable products and delivery/packaging. My team and I recently had the privilege of presenting our project at the 4th Annual Global Sustainable Supply Chain Pledge Day panel. Our project focuses on addressing the oversight in reporting Scope 3 emissions, particularly consumer-led emissions known as “Orphan emissions.” Orphan emissions, generated by consumers throughout a product's lifecycle and end-of-life processes, remain largely unacknowledged despite their significant contribution to carbon footprints. While consumer awareness is growing, evidenced by behaviors like utilizing cloth bags and electric vehicles, there remains a gap in understanding the impact of activities such as electricity usage, water wastage, and disposal processes. Our project aims to increase consumer awareness of these orphan emissions to reduce carbon footprints during product usage, fostering a more climate-positive approach. Additionally, we seek to assist companies in decarbonizing from these lesser-known sources of emissions. I want to express my gratitude to the Pledge Day Team at ISCEA, Professor David Steven Jacoby, Boston Strategies International, and New York University for this incredible opportunity. It has been a valuable experience that has enhanced our understanding of sustainable supply chain practices and has inspired us to continue our efforts towards a more sustainable future.
