Unlocking Potential Through Pressure I get it—working under pressure can be incredibly stressful. But if you look at it from a different angle, it’s also where your true potential shines the brightest. I experienced this firsthand while working on a video project for SoKlin Royale, in collaboration with renowned fashion designer Deden Siswanto. This video was created as the opening for one of the largest fashion events in Surabaya. Believe it or not, the entire production happened in just one day, with another day for editing, and the video aired the next day. Even now, it’s hard for me to believe how I managed to pull it off. But this experience taught me that to reach your maximum potential, you need to give everything you’ve got—even when the pressure feels overwhelming. Hey, I'm Billy Idzhar, and this is Buka Project’s Journey! Building Buka Project has been an incredible rollercoaster. What started as a small Production House focusing on photography and videography back in 2019, has now grown into a full-blown creative agency serving not only Bogor, but brands from all over Indonesia. For me, it all began in 2015, when I was just a fashion photographer hustling between Bandung and Jakarta. Eventually, I noticed that in Bogor, there was a lack of creative agencies that could truly help brands thrive in both strategy and visual identity. That’s when I realized: why not build one? So, in 2019, Buka Project was born. Over these four years, I’ve faced ups and downs—challenging clients, evolving trends, and building a solid team from the ground up. There were moments I questioned everything, but one thing I never doubted was the talent and creativity of my team. From helping brands develop their social media presence to running complex campaigns and crafting stunning visual content, we’ve helped brands not just be seen, but truly stand out. This journey has been about more than just work—it’s been about creating more. More value, more success, and more opportunities for brands and my team. A painting of myself In early July 2023, I had the pleasure of visiting an art exhibition with one of my office colleagues in Surabaya. As someone passionate about creativity and growth, it was an opportunity to immerse myself in the world of art, to gain inspiration that I believe would fuel both my personal and professional journey. For me, this visit was especially meaningful because I had a wishlist: to have a painting of myself. I never imagined that I would actually have the chance to make this wish come true. It was an incredibly special moment that I’ll always cherish. What I didn’t know at the time was how this seemingly simple experience would set off a chain of events. Just weeks later, I found myself registering for a business innovation competition on Independence Day, 17 August 2023. By the end of September 2023, I was honored to be announced as the winner, and in early October 2023, I was suddenly stepping into a new chapter of my journey, continuing my master’s degree that will be finished soon in the next 6-week of the master’s last term. Time truly flies. It’s remarkable how we can never fully predict what the future holds. But what we can do is live in the present, with joy and purpose. Consistent, never-ending improvement is what ultimately shapes our journey, ensuring that we never regret any part of it.
