UPDATE: We're "At Bang" with our active assailant at INTEGRATE. The Loss Prevention Research Council (LPRC) presented a realistic video of an active shooter scenario, and now law enforcement from the University of Florida, Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Alachua County Sheriff's Office, and Gainesville Police Department are discussing ways they break down and secure the building where the direct threat is happening. Priorities are stopping the threat and then rendering aid. Swat teams aren't always the first on-site, there is not usually time to wait for SWAT to arrive as the event happens so quickly. The main goal is to "Make the bad stop."- Lt. Scott Silver, UFPD. It is important for everyone in the room to hear what steps PD takes during the event unfolding: high-pressure, high-tension, quick decision-making. Next...right of bang and what happens after the event. Michael Currier, CPP Loss Prevention Magazine
