NURSE RETENTION: THE KEY TO BETTER OUTCOMES FOR BOTH PATIENTS AND NURSES This powerful statement highlights the crucial role that nurse retention plays in the quality patient care. When hospitals focus on retaining their skilled and experienced nurses, everyone benefits. A stable nursing workforce fosters a positive and supportive work environment, where collaboration and trust flourish. This, in turn, leads to improved patient care and outcomes, as nurses are better equipped to provide high-quality, consistent care. Moreover, by reducing turnover rates, hospitals can save significant amounts of money that would otherwise be spent on recruiting, hiring, and training new nurses. These cost savings can be redirected towards initiatives that further enhance patient care and support the nursing staff. It's time for healthcare organizations to recognize the immense value of their nursing workforce and prioritize retention strategies. By doing so, they can create a win-win situation for nurses, patients, and the organization as a whole. Stroke Program Director passionate about stroke prevention, awareness and care. I strive to inspire excellence in stroke care. Think stroke until proven innocent!!
Let’s just be honest, nursing culture has changed. In today’s hospitals and clinics, homes and skilled nursing facilities, rehabs and hospice, whatever the location the challenges are very similar. Nurses feel unappreciated, overworked and are in survival mode, as they take on not only the nursing roles but those of the tech, the unit secretary, the phlebotomist and the RT, sometimes even housekeeping… I see you! But I’m reminded of something I learned in nursing school that has never failed me, the same something I saw a physician do many years ago that earned him so much respect in my eyes, when I asked him a question he didn’t know the answer to. He stepped out of the room and came back in with a big book and found the answer, right in front of me. This was before I was a nurse, I was just a young mom with a sick baby. You see what I learned in nursing school, what that physician showed me, we don’t always have to have a ready answer, we just have to know where to find answers. Though nursing in and of itself is shifting, we don’t have to be afraid of change, we just have to learn how to adapt and inspire those around us. Whether leading your coworkers laterally or in a position of leadership we all have an opportunity to impact the culture of nursing. This book is a great place to start. I just started it a few days ago and already have gleaned a wealth of insight. I encourage you to pick up a copy and be the change you want to see. #nurseslead #nurses #healthcare #inspire #bethechangeyouwanttosee #nursesmatter

NURSES: THE HEART OF PATIENT CARE Hospital CEOs, are you listening? As a nurse leader, I'm speaking directly to you about what you need to understand about your nursing staff. In this video, I'm sharing crucial insights I've gathered from the nursing world over the past couple of years. Here's the most important takeaway: Nurses are the heart of patient care. Without us, hospitals simply couldn't function. We're often called the backbone of healthcare, and while we don't need constant recognition for this, we do need your support. Look closely at your organization - you'll see that nurses provide the bulk of patient care. But here's the thing: we can't do it alone. We need your understanding and support to continue being the heart of healthcare. Ready to learn more about supporting your nursing staff and improving patient care? Join our "Making Nurses Matter" workshop! ✅ 4 days of empowering content ✅ 4 contact hours of CE credit ✅ Strategies for supporting nurses effectively ✅ Only $17 for full access Can't make it live?
