Nurse Retention is a major challenge facing the NHS and wider healthcare industry today. With the ageing population, demand for nurses is growing, but current shortages in the profession mean that it's harder to retain nurses. The reasons for this difficulty range from poor working conditions to an ageing workforce, and the lack of continuity in working relationships. This means that nurses are often being asked to work long hours and take on more responsibility than they are able to manage. In order to tackle these issues, healthcare organisations must take steps to improve nurse retention. This includes offering competitive salaries and benefits, providing training opportunities, and creating a culture of support and appreciation. It is also important to ensure that nurses have access to the support and resources they need to succeed. By taking these steps, healthcare organisations can help ensure that nurses are able to stay in their positions for the long-term and help create a healthier and better-equipped workforce. #nursing #nurseretention #healthcare

Who will care for the nurses? According to a recent Royal College of Nursing survey of over 11,000 members in the UK, last year 85% of nurses showed up for work at least once despite facing issues like stress, back pain, a cold, anxiety, or depression. Shockingly, almost half (46%) did this between two and five times, with nearly one in five (19%) doing so on more than five occasions. Additionally, the numbers of nurses working through illness are on the rise, with 85% doing so last year, up from 77% in 2021. It is crucial to address the challenges faced by our healthcare heroes and ensure they receive the support they need. #Nursing #HealthcareHeroes #Wellness
