#SpeakerAlert It Takes a Village: Join Us at Nurture Network Live 2024! We could write all the accolades and accomplishments of Lee Chambers—and they are pretty impressive. As the Chief Psychologist & Founder of Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing & Male Allies UK, Lee’s work has earned him a spot on the Startups 100 Index, a Great British Entrepreneur Award, and even the Freedom of the City of London for his services to equality in business. But in preparing for this exclusive fireside chat, it wasn’t the accolades that stood out to me and our journalist Christian Doherty. What struck me most was when Lee shared one of the most pivotal experiences in his life. Growing up in a poor neighbourhood in the north of England where he was the only one who looked like him a young black child from Bolton, Lee learned early on about the power of community - even at the tender age of 7 when he couldnt quite name it. His journey began in an environment that wasn’t always supportive, but it was the strength of his ‘village’ that helped him overcome the challenges he faced. This made me reflect on my own childhood experiences and the importance of having the right people in your corner. At Nurture Network Live 2024: It Takes a Village, we’re going in deep as Lee opens up about these formative experiences and how they shaped his path to becoming a leading voice in promoting inclusion and allyship. His story is one of resilience, determination, and the crucial role that a supportive network plays in navigating life’s toughest challenges. Beyond Lee’s inspiring fireside chat, our event will feature dynamic panels and practical workshops where you’ll learn: - How to future-proof success by cultivating an inclusive multigenerational culture - Who your dream team should be and why they matter - Strategies to win internal support and perfect your leadership style - How to navigate life’s challenges with the right support system If you’re ready to build your team and take your career or business to the next level, save your seat for Nurture Network Live 2024. This is more than just an event—it’s a chance to connect with like-minded professionals, learn from each other’s stories, and grow together. Link in comments below to be part of this transformative experience. We can't wait to see you there!

Delivering my "Idea Worth Spreading" last week was absolutely amazing - but a bonus gift was the community that our group of speakers gained throughout the journey. 📚 Lessons in Community Building - with examples that came from being a TEDxWinnipeg speaker: 1. Shared Goals Foster Strong Bonds: Working towards a common objective brings people together, creating a sense of belonging and mutual support. *Shared Purpose*: One of the core principles of community building is having a shared purpose. Our group of TEDx 2024 speakers and coaches came together with a singular goal: to deliver impactful talks that resonate with our audience. This shared purpose created an immediate bond among us. 2. Mutual Support and Feedback: Constructive feedback and encouragement are vital. They help each member improve and feel valued. *Collaborative Effort*: Over the past few months (yes months!), we worked tirelessly, crafting our scripts and rehearsing together. The hard work and dedication we put in were challenging, but it was this very process that brought us closer. We supported each other through feedback, encouragement, and shared experiences. 3. Embrace the Journey: The process of working together, overcoming challenges, and achieving goals helps solidify a community. *Collective Growth*: Through the ups and downs, we grew not just as individuals but as a group. We learned from each other’s perspectives, strengthened our talk delivery, and celebrated each other’s progress. This collaborative growth is a testament to the power of community. --- This #TEDx experience has made me appreciate the power of community even more. It’s a reminder that whether we’re building online networks or working on projects, the principles of shared purpose, collaboration, and mutual growth are key. When did you last experience the power of community? #TEDx #CommunityBuilding #SharedPurpose #Community

e-Learning Designer ↔️ Former Educator (QTS) | Exploring empathy & storytelling in e-learning to supercharge engagement & progress
𝗟𝗡 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 🎉 The first professional event I've attended where everyone felt equal. Everyone gave their time to others. Everyone's experiences were valued. Accomplished professionals engaged in meaningful conversations with newcomers to the field. Not a hint of 'them' and 'us', in any way. Just a bunch of friendly folk, all keen to improve their practice and the future of L&D. It was a privilege to meet new people, and speak with many of the inspiring individuals I've enjoyed learning from and networking with recently: 💼 Erin Donovan, Ph.D. advised on how to leverage your full skillset when changing careers. 📕 Roy de Vries spoke of Robert Cialdini's work on the principles of persuasion... and updated my L&D reading list for me ☺️ 🔁 Jo Cook and Neil John Cunningham prompted much needed consideration of sustainability in L&D. 🧠 Russell Woods (Assoc. CIPD) discussed neuroscience in L&D, and how sports coaching skills can benefit workplace training initiatives. 🏆 Yiping Sun shared insights into becoming a Customer Success champ! 🤝 Martin Baker advocated for collaboration between charities via The Charity Mentoring Network. 📈 Rick Bradley - FLPI, FRSPH spoke about enabling learner effectiveness with Thalheimer's Learning Transfer model. 📢 Michelle Parry-Slater captured the attention of a room with the question "Is what you do good enough to prove L&D solves business problems?" 🎤 Jonathan Holmes and Andrew Jacobs encouraged me to realise the value I can bring to L&D through mentoring and podcast interviews. ⭐ Huge thanks to Tom McDowall for enabling me to attend, and to others on the Learning Network board for all their hard work in organising and facilitating such a successful event: Kim Ellis, Dave Price, Erin Donovan, Paula Hughes, Andrew Jacobs, Sam Dyde, Jonathan Holmes, Kashish Kacheria, and Jane Rennie 👏. The day was as enjoyable as it was thought-provoking. Who else is already looking forward to LN Connect 2024? #LNconnect23 #learninganddevelopment #id #transitioningteachers #landd #instructionaldesign

Struggling to spark life into your social initiative? Ever thought of partnering with businesses outside your scope? Let's explore.... Imagine pouring your heart into a project that aims to change lives, only to hit a wall. It happens more often than most admit. But here's the twist: sometimes, the breakthrough comes from where you least expect it. Think partnerships. Not just any collaboration, but one with businesses outside your immediate circle. Why? Because innovative solutions often come from the cross-pollination of ideas across different industries. It's about creating a synergy that amplifies your impact. Consider this: a local food drive initiative partners with a tech company to develop an app that matches surplus food with areas in need. Suddenly, you're not just a social initiative; you're a tech-powered movement. But it doesn't stop there. Engage, engage, engage. Engagement is not just about numbers; it's about building a community that believes in your cause. Share stories, not statistics. Let people see the faces behind the numbers. When people connect emotionally, they're more likely to act. Lastly, never underestimate the power of a well-told story. Your initiative has a unique story that can inspire, motivate, and drive action. Share it far and wide. Let it resonate with people across different walks of life. Now, it's your turn. Who can you partner with to take your initiative to the next level? How can you engage your community more deeply? What’s the untold story of your initiative? Share your thoughts below. Let's brainstorm together and give your social initiative the boost it deserves. #innovation #socialimpact #partnership #collaboration #gamechanger #strategicleadership #nonprofitmanagement

Have you got some GREAT ideas💡 but no forward momentum? Me too. I’ve got a few potential project concepts rattling around in my brain. I’m super excited about them—I can’t stop thinking about them. But no progress has been made because these ideas are BIG and probably… Nope! They are most definitely super time-consuming. I’m short on time these days—we all are. You are, too, right? So, I haven’t moved on any of these ideas yet. Now, with the help of this post, I’m considering the baby steps I can take to make them a reality. https://lnkd.in/e9vViPtc #ElevatingEngagement #AssociationInnovation
