📚 From intern to COO. 🚠 From 2 to 11 team members. 🚀 From an idea to a successful business. Turning a dream into reality requires perseverance. So much is not shown in the statements above: the constant learning, the camaraderie, the wins and losses, the tough decisions, the grit required to show up day and again amidst the excitement of uncertainty. To me, walking this path of entrepreneurship and leadership has not only shaped my growth as a professional but also as a human being. This journey continues to teach me how to evolve - in purpose and self-awareness, in always showing up, even when it is hard, and in holding tight to my values. In my new role as COO, I am eager to contribute to Behavioral Science Research Institute’s continued success by driving innovation and excellence while creating a supportive organizational infrastructure to meet our shared goals. I believe that by leading with our strengths and fostering a culture of integrity and collaboration, we can achieve everything we have set out to do and more. To my team - I both admire and am inspired by you. This promotion speaks volumes of BSRI’s organizational growth, which is a result of deep effort on behalf of many. There is still much to learn. I hope you all will continue to share your knowledge and wisdom with me in ways that challenge and spur my growth. To anyone else walking this path - I see you. I feel your victories and your struggles. It is worth every effort for the wisdom that will be gained along the journey - steady your vision and keep moving forward. #newheights #entrepreneurship #leadership #socialimpact #COO #BSRI

Today marks the end of 3 years on the Coastal Young Professionals Committee through the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce - Are You A Member?. I had the opportunity to spend my last year serving as their Chair and could not be more thankful for what this group and organization has done for my personal and professional development. This was one of my first committee's I joined as a working professional and to be honest, I did not understand the professional impact this could have when I first joined. My thoughts back then were... ❌ Do employers see value in their employees involvement in committee's? ❌ Is this the best way to spend my time? ❌ What will I get out of this at the end? My mindset going into joining was all wrong. Notice how all my thoughts were selfishly about what "I" would get out of it. As my time continued, my mindset shifted to others... 🌴 How can I impact the young professionals community? 🌵 How can I help adults jumpstart their career early on? 🥑 Employers definitely see value in outside involvement I learned a valuable lesson to focus on serving others rather than what is best for me. I found it interesting when you focus on serving others, fruit sometimes makes it's way back and benefits you personally. Here is some of the fruit that came after reflecting: 💡 I learned how to work on a team in various professions 💡 I learned how to lead a team as their chair 💡 I learned how to plan professional events 💡 I gained a great professional network 💡 I was nominated as 2023 Top Young Professional of the Year 💡 I gained insight on what employees look for in professional development Although I am stepping down from the committee I will still be involved with Sheboygan Chamber Events. Thank you to the best YP team out there! After almost a year and a half at CVS Health Store 8141, the endless support from my field leadership team, developing my deep understanding of the business, building up my high performing team, I was so excited when my incredible AP Partner, Laquita Waligorski, called my name and my store up for recognition for achieving Platinum Plus status in myShrink Responsibility Excellence for a grade of A for 6 months straight. When I first took over my store, I knew there were many operational opportunities I would have to overcome. Being in a challenging urban market, facing many complexities, like the volume, the community, and years of neglect, taking on Laquita as my number one AP partner was one of the things I needed to guide me towards success. We spent the first months action planning together and setting attainable goals to develop my team. Laquita helped me grow my understanding of Asset Protection, when and how to leverage my partners, and how to retrain and repurpose my team in a healthier and safer environment for themselves, our customers, and our merchandise. Now, once we had built the groundwork together, she challenged me to achieve Platinum Plus Status! Although, I had my field responsibilities as an Emerging Leader, I was still able to develop the capabilities in my team to execute asset protection at a higher level! Not only was Store 8141 able to achieve the acclaimed Platinum Plus Status Award, but we are also projected to make inventory for 2024 (knock on wood), and we have moved our from an AP Tier 3 store to Tier 1! I know a lot of this is about what we’ve done at 8141, but I want to just take some time to recognize Laquita Waligorski. For the dedication to her role, for what she has shown and taught me, and for truly developing me to the next level. I’m proud to be one of her mentees! #cvshealth #assetprotection #leadership #platinum #platinumplus #development #complexity #city #detroit #business #urban #highperformingteam #teamwork #mentorship #growth #lossprevention

Helping people leaders build a workplace that top talent wants to join & stay with. 🔷 President & CEO, ColorVizion Lab
Last night, I was fortunate to attend "DEI on the Line" at The Gathering Spot, hosted by Ryan Wilson. The panel discussion with Nzinga “Zing” Shaw, Candace M. Stanciel, M. Ed., and Angelica Geter, DrPH, MPH left me feeling... 🔗Enlightened 🔗Understood 🔗Energized So much wisdom was shared, I'll need several posts to do it justice. But one point by Nzinga particularly resonated: as DEI practitioners, we are charged with the responsibility of explaining to leaders why it's in their best interest to empower historically excluded voices in the workplace. This includes giving historically excluded individuals decision-making power, access to leadership roles, and the opportunity to deliver innovation and creativity. The bottom line is DEI is good for business. New research constantly underscores the direct correlation between DEI and stronger revenue growth, innovation, and profitability. While the human impact alone should be enough, framing DEI in terms of business value is most impactful because it’s what the corporate world understands. I’m deeply grateful for spaces like The Gathering Spot for providing safe platforms for learning, venting, and strategizing without judgment. Well done, TGS. #diversityequityinclusion

Today, three of the Employee Trustees at Stephens Scown complete their three-year terms and hand over to the new-look group 😢 They’ve achieved a great amount, and put in enormous effort over the last three years, so it’s sad to see them step away - but brilliant to be able to celebrate their contributions 🎉 They are Team Players, they are Role Models. They are Scowners to put on a pedestal. Kia Pearson, Lexie Williams and Anthony Booth have helped to evolve and re-define what EO is at our business, how it can contribute to the growth of the business and the experience of our colleagues, and they will be missed. My highlight from our time 🤔 it might be when we all had the opportunity to present the launch of our behaviours to the business, and each Trustee celebrated great examples from across our workforce. That, or when we pre-recorded our AGM for EO Day 2024 and Lexie secured the guest appearances of ex-Olympians and other sporting stars. I’m sure that they will continue to contribute, albeit without the title. With the change comes the brilliant opportunity for the new Employee Trustees and in the hands of them our employee owners can remain confident – Emily Smith, Gemma Mittell (Symons), Meesha Ghovanloupoor, Tyler Richards, and Natalie Vizard. #EmployeeOwnership #Culture #EmployeeEngagement
