We posted our pre-print on identifying responders in clinical trials using geometrical learning. Our methods detect response in a Pfizer clinical trial extremely well: https://lnkd.in/e-4cQdUs The goal of our technology is to get cancer patients the best treatment based on their individual tumor responses. This can potentially get more cancer drugs approved by identifying the patient responders to each compound, thereby improving efficacy. We work with pharma companies on clinical trials to identify subgroups of responders in Phase II/III trials, and also to review failed trials that might be revived in a subgroup of ~20-50% of patients who had notable response - characterizing these patients by their tumor signatures. A new study investigated how genetic variations influence the response to gemcitabine-based chemotherapy in metastatic pancreatic cancer patients. While certain gene variants showed potential links to treatment response and overall survival, particularly COX-2 polymorphisms impacting survival, genetic factors related to gemcitabine metabolism did not significantly affect treatment efficacy. I am happy to share our latest review addressing the super-enhancers (SEs) in cancer. The perturbation of enhancer function due to genetic or epigenetic changes is closely linked to a range of human disorders, including the development and progression of cancers. Thus, the detection of early cancer-related enhancer activity and the subsequent normalization of expression abnormalities using enhancer-targeting CRISPR epigenetic editing, as well as enhancer-targeting pharmaceuticals, are regarded as groundbreaking therapeutic tactics in preclinical stages. https://lnkd.in/dbECJi4c

💉I'm excited to share that our review article on "Applications of CRISPR-cas System in the Treatment of Genetic Diseases and Covid-19" has been published in Population Therapeutics and Clinical Pharmacology.💉 This wouldn't have been possible without the efforts of all the co authors specially Wajia. In this review, CRISPR/Cas's potential for treatment of disease has been explored for various diseases, such as sickle cell disease, neurologic disorders, cancer, etc., wherein CRISPR/Cas components such as ribonucleoprotein, sgRNA/mRNA, plasmid and Cas9/single guide RNA (sgRNA)were delivered. The CRISPR-Cas-based methods also helps in diagnosis of COVID19 infections. The CRISPR-Cas system is being studied for the development of antiviral drugs in addition to its capacity for diagnosis, however no CRISPR-based treatment has yet been authorised for use in humans. Novartis will acquire U.S. radiopharmaceutical company Mariana Oncology for $1B upfront, boosting its portfolio of precision #cancer treatments in development. Mariana Oncology is working on novel radioligand cancer therapies (RLTs) that have not yet been tested on humans. Radioligand therapy, based on cell-killing radioactive particles that are attached to tumour-seeking molecules, is one of three technologies that Novartis’ development efforts are focused on, apart from cell and gene therapy as well as RNA. #oncology #precisionmedicine
