Fresh soft fruit purchase season is officially over, peak season is long gone and finally we have some time to rest and load the batteries. 🔋 Don’t get me wrong, production is still preparing tons of frozen delicacies but the vibe is a bit different. 😉 It’s important to face new projects and challenges with clear mind and a perfect way to do that is to finally use a vacation leave 🏝 but seriously, for us, September marks the beginning of vacation season. I won’t be lying when I say that we’re all looking forward to it and no wonder, it is well deserved – I’m not even going to try to be modest, we nailed the summer season. 💪 There’s no denying, that it was also a very demanding time. 😌 For the last few years our company faces some significant changes but I guess it is safe to say that we are constantly learning to adapt, try to turn the challenges into well learnt lessons and in the same time to our own advantage. 😊 Now it is time to embrace those changes, rest, reflect, improve and then welcome another year with all that it has to offer. 🤗 #newchallenges #changes

What happens to “lunch” mid-career? 🥗Reflecting back, these 30-60 minutes are how some of my greatest relationships were built. So why are so many of us in our 40s+ sitting at our desks, dash dining alone or skipping it all together? Some may find their calendars stacked or save that time, eager to get home to families and activities. Others may feel a bit on the outside, just waiting for an invitation. Perhaps a few are introverts and prefer it that way, or have experiences from the past that tells them colleagues shouldn’t be friends. I don’t have the answer, but prioritizing a walk or meal at least once a month with people you spend a large percentage of your time with seems more reward than risk. What do you think? PS: try it! Good morning LinkedIn! Another beautiful weekend and the start of a new work week. Mondays remain stupid btw. Here's what I learned this weekend: Sweet potato fries are delicious, as we all know, but CRINKLE cut sweet potato fries are next level. Regarding the older car lesson from a few weeks ago, it sure is nice to drive something that you can just get in and operate. I have discovered I am a fan of simple knobs and buttons to make things go. We have another newer car that you need a couple courses at MIT just to know how to put it in gear or work the climate control. Why is it so complicated? Use fertilizer every time you water your outdoor hanging baskets. Seems like a lot, but they really like it and you get way more flowers. I use Miracle Grow. Don't confuse that with Miracle Whip, which is a nasty condiment that people try to use instead of mayonnaise. 🤢 Have a great week and hang in there!

*Beekeeper. Noun. A person who breeds and keeps [honey] bees.* I’m a beekeeper. 🐝 But until a few months ago when someone pointed this out to me, I hadn’t considered myself one. Looking at that definition, it’s obvious. I have 3 hives in my backyard; I’ve been taking care of them for a year now. I helped with two bee rescues this past summer. I’ve moved swarms into hives. I’ve harvested honey. I have hive equipment in my office, in my truck, and in my shed. I’m a beekeeper. 🍯 Why, then, did it take someone else to point this out to me? I think my issue was one that a lot of women in particular struggle with: I didn’t check all of the boxes *I thought* should be there. The official definition doesn’t mention doing it full time. It doesn’t say I have to do it for money. It mentions nothing about number of years of experience or success rate (knock on wood, all of my bees are thriving). I DO check all of the boxes (and more). I’m a beekeeper! So for all the women reading this (and men, and non-binary) who haven’t tried something or identified as something because they thought they didn’t check all of the boxes, my advice for you is: GO FOR IT. 👩💼 Apply to that job (better yet, find someone who can make a warm intro) 👩💻 Add that title to your resume 👩🎨 Try a new sport or hobby (bonus points if it gets you outside!) Perfection is a word we should strive to eliminate from our vocabulary when it comes to ourselves and our fellow human beings.
