🇰🇷 On July 24, 2024, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of #SouthKorea revised the Food #Labeling Standard. ✅ This revision mainly aims to address the shrinkflation practice and enhance the labeling requirements of sweeteners. Other labeling requirements are also improved according to the new version, such as improving the labeling methods to make alcohol’s calories more visible, establishing the legal ground to indicate that a product is for infants or young children, and optimizing the requirements for labeling blended edible oils. Today, FDA releases a Small Entity Compliance Guide (SECG) to help explain the actions a small entity must take to comply with recent changes made to the Final Rule to revoke the Standards of Identity (SOIs) for lowfat yogurt and nonfat yogurt and to amend the Standard for Yogurt. The SECG is aimed at food manufacturers producing yogurt products for the US market and restates, in plain language, and in a question-and-answer format, the provisions in the final rule. 🇰🇷 On May 20, 2024, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of #SouthKorea announced that the "SAFE-i24" digital inspection system was expanded to cover all imported food products, allowing declaration document reviews to be completed in 5 minutes.
