It's not just a saying. First impressions really do matter. This goes far beyond looks. Usually the first impression that my team and I receive are through DMs on LinkedIn and through email. We start from that point deciding if we think you will be a good fit. Btw your clinical and food service skills won't always get you in the door. Professionalism is highly needed. P.S. first impressions matter, but I definitely believe in second chances P.P.S-we are all a work in process, always trying to perfect my professionalism ------------------------------------------------------- Hi I'm Kim Company President at Nutrition Remedy RDs | Staffing Services My team and I 💜 providing the best nutrition care for your communities. ⏩ expert nutrition professionals (Registered Dietitians, Executive Chefs, Certified Dietary Managers/Food Service Directors, Registered Dietetic Technicians) ⏩ all 50 states ⏩ personalized services for your specific facility #healthcare #education #university #longtermcare #seniorliving #hospitals #nutrition #staffing

🩺 Medical Exams for Food Handlers: Because Your Health is Our Secret Ingredient! 🍽️🦸♀️ Let's get pumped about keeping our kitchen crews healthier than a kale smoothie! 🎉 Why are we so excited about poking and prodding our food handlers? 🤔 Medical exams aren't just about playing doctor with your staff (though that white coat does look fabulous on you). It's about ensuring your food is safer than a bank vault! Let's dissect why it's so crucial: 1. Germ Busting Superheroes 🦠💥 Healthy staff = fewer chances for uninvited microbial guests to crash your food party! 2. Vaccination Vacation 💉🏖️ It's like giving your immune system an all-inclusive resort stay. No pesky diseases allowed! 3. Legal Eagle Approved ⚖️ The Food Hygiene Regulation 2009 isn't just suggesting this - it's the law, baby! Break it, and you might be serving your specialties in the slammer! 4. Customer Confidence Booster 💪 When diners know your staff is healthier than a yoga instructor's Instagram, they'll trust your food more than their cooking! What does the Food Hygiene Regulation 2009 say? 📜 According to Regulation 31, it's not just a suggestion, it's a health and safety extravaganza! 1. Doctor's Orders 👨⚕️ Food handlers must be medically examined and vaccinated by a registered medical practitioner. It's like a spa day but with more needles! 2. No Sick Days on the Job 🤒🚫 If a food handler is suffering from or suspected of carrying food-borne disease, they're benched faster than a baseball player who forgot how to bat! 3. Report and Resort 📢🏥 Any food-borne illness must be reported to management ASAP. It's like calling in sick but with more urgency and less fake coughing! 4. Comeback Kid 🏆 Before returning to work, food handlers must be certified as cured and fit by a medical practitioner. It's the ultimate "doctor's note" for adults! How do you ace the medical exam game? 🎭 1. Schedule Like a Pro 📅 Could you set up regular check-ups? It's like oil changes for your staff, but less greasy! 2. Vaccination Nation 💉 Could you keep those shots up to date? It's your staff's superhero serum! 3. Education is Key 🎓 Train your team on health reporting. Make them more vigilant than a cat watching a fish tank! 4. Record Keeper Extraordinaire 📁 Could you keep those medical records organized? It's like scrapbooking, but less crafty and more crucial! 💡 Pro Tip: Regular testing of your staff's health can give you superpowers in food safety. 👉 Take Action: Are you a food business looking to improve the health of your staff? Send your team for health screening, and let's create a healthier, safer food environment—quicker than you can wash your hands! Remember, a healthy staff isn't just good practice in food safety - it's your secret recipe for success! Let's make every medical exam a step towards food safety excellence! 🩺🍽️🚀 #FoodSafety #MedicalExams #LabTesting #FoodIndustry #PublicHealth #HealthyStaff

The relationship between individuals and food, the food system, and nutrition information is something I'm passionate about. This article touches on the importance of food literacy and nutrition literacy. Teaching kitchens 👏👏👏 brilliant concept.
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food,” first quoted by Hippocrates in 400 B.C. remains an important doctrine in the modern world. Our current food market is oversaturated with processed options that lack nutritional value. For long-term health and disease prevention, it’s critical to reduce the amount of processed foods consumed and increase whole foods that provide energy and nutrients for your body to function at its optimal level. A recent article from STAT News highlights the GROW Clinic at Boston Medical Center, which helps teach people how to cook more nutritious meals through its Teaching Kitchen initiative. The opportunity to access healthy foods at a local level is one of the main indicators of adopting a healthy diet. However, the article properly defines the other keys to long-term success which “requires knowledge on food preparation, storage, and more.” The Clinic also provides education on topics such as iron, cholesterol, and how to find accessible alternatives for healthy meals. For example, if organic chicken isn’t an option due to price or availability, participants are taught to opt for canned chicken which still provides essential iron and other nutrients and is less processed than conventional fast food options. When easy access and knowledge are combined, people are more likely to develop and stick to a nutritious meal plan. Then, people tend to experience the ripple effect of healing from the inside out. Once the body is filled with nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, people have increased energy, better moods, and are more likely to continue with healthy eating patterns. The article references several ways to make routine meals lighter, such as swapping cheese in scrambled eggs for flavorful onions and peppers. I learned a lot about food as medicine through my training at The Institute for Functional Medicine and continue to use it practice at Health Meets Wellness. Feel free to share some of your favorite ‘swaps’ that others can incorporate to take part in the Food is Medicine movement! #healthcareonlinkedin

Nutrition staffing for facilities in all 50 states (Contact us: ☎️267-241-7242 or 💻kim@nutritionremedyrds.com)
The way you speak and document about someone you care for in your facility is crucial. If you paint a picture of them "being difficult" or "being noncompliant", this can highly affect how they are treated throughout the entire facility and other places they may be transferred to. As a healthcare professional, I understand that documenting the FACTS is crucial, yet we always want to make sure we stick to the truth vs our own biases. It's easy to forget where that line is when going through everyday care, but definitely should be thought about consistently. At Nutrition Remedy RDs | Staffing Services, we 💜 providing nutrition for the ones you care for in your community while providing them with the most dignity and respect. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Do you need to hire a nutrition professional for your facility? One of the great things about being a dietitian is that there are so many potential career options... While working in a clinical (e.g. hospital/LTC) setting is not for everyone; having this experience does afford you some opportunities and experiences you may not be able to get elsewhere. 1.Working with a care team including MDs, RNs, PT/OT, SLP and pharmacists and caring for individuals with complicated illnesses/diseases. 2. Learning how to collaborate and communicate with other health professionals and being part of a care team. 3. Being recognized professionally in your community. 4. Being able to participate in community health events with the hospital or care facility. 5. Having an opportunity to explore food service/food service management positions. 6. Training and mentoring students and interns. https://lnkd.in/e27huATQ

You shouldn't have to beg. One thing I learned with anything (a job, a home, personal and business relationships), you shouldn't have to beg someone to provide you your desired outcome. Yes you can ask someone to reconsider and put your best foot forward by telling them more details about why you deserve the thing you desire, but it should stop there. You can't force someone to see your light ☀️ When it comes more naturally, you will realize that you are in exactly in the place you need to be. ------------------------------------------- Hi I'm Kim Company President at Nutrition Remedy RDs | Staffing Services My team and I 💜 providing the best nutrition care for your communities. ⏩ expert nutrition professionals (Registered Dietitians, Executive Chefs, Certified Dietary Managers/Food Service Directors, Registered Dietetic Technicians) ⏩ all 50 states ⏩ personalized services for your specific facility #healthcare #education #university #longtermcare #seniorliving #hospitals #nutrition #staffing

If you and your team are confused about what is going on with a resident or patient based on the documentation, then CMS and Joint Commission will too. Making sure your documentation is clear and concise takes practice, but it's essential. State agencies should be able to see the issues someone has with the timely interventions without having to go through pages of documentation with a confused look in their face. 🤔 --------------------------------------------------------- Hi I'm Kim My team and I 💜 providing the best nutrition care for your communities. ⏩ expert nutrition professionals (Registered Dietitians, Executive Chefs, Certified Dietary Managers/Food Service Directors, Registered Dietetic Technicians) ⏩ all 50 states ⏩ personalized services for your specific facility #healthcare #education #university #longtermcare #seniorliving #hospitals #nutrition #staffing
