Absolutely the way to go. Over the last 35 years different factions have marched to this idea, it’s time to unite and develop a strategy to express the points associated with rail passenger services. #nationalinfrastructurebank
People are demanding more passenger rail across America. We’re going to bring them together and build the platform to enrich rail communities and inspire more advocates. With the support of our local partner, All Aboard Arizona, we are excited to bring rail advocates to a state that is pushing for more passenger rail. The rail line between Dublin's Connolly Station and Grand Canal Dock will close from 26 December until 5 January. Iarnród Éireann will replace 4.2km of track on the loop line, the busiest section of the rail network. DART services will run between Howth/Malahide and Connolly, and Grand Canal Dock and Bray/Greystones. Limited bus shuttles and Dublin Bus ticket acceptance will help passengers. Intercity services to Rosslare will include bus transfers. Northern and Maynooth commuter trains will terminate at Connolly.

Tri Delta Transit will be changing our timetable schedule Sunday, January 12th. Please find a preview of our schedule on our website www.trideltatransit.com. Bay Area transit agencies are now syncing schedules in a whole new way with a focus on improving transfers between systems and making schedule changes at the same time. Most Bay Area transit agencies are rolling out new schedules in mid-January in coordination with each other and have now aligned the timing of schedule changes twice each year, once in summer (mid-August) and once in winter (mid-January). Since 2022, the number of transit agencies with full schedule change alignment (changing schedules at the same time August and January) has increased from 4 to 19, for a 375% increase. Advancing schedule change alignment is a key priority for Bay Area transit general managers who meet on a weekly basis to make transit more rider-focused and efficient. Happy riding!

Day 4 of See Tracks, Think Train Week 2024 is all about transit professionals who drive across railroad crossings. Driving a big rig? Know your stopping distance at rail crossings. And if you think your trailer won't clear a railroad crossing at a traffic light, stop before it. Too many times we see trains collide with trailers and cargo containers hanging over a crossing. Being extra cautious may help save lives. #SeeTracksThinkTrain #RailSafetyWeek #StopTrackTragedies #CrossingSafety

Thirty years ago today, the first public trains ran through the Channel Tunnel, "The Chunnel" linking England and France under the English Channel. The Channel Tunnel, is a rail tunnel between England and France that runs beneath the English Channel. The Channel Tunnel, 50 km (31 miles) long, consists of three tunnels: two for rail traffic and a central tunnel for services and security. The tunnel runs between Folkestone, England, and Sangatte (near Calais), France, and is used for both freight and passenger traffic. Passengers can travel either by ordinary rail coach or within their own motor vehicles, which are loaded onto special railcars. Trains can travel through the tunnel at speeds as high as 160 km (100 miles) per hour; the trip takes about 35 minutes. It has the longest undersea portion of any tunnel in the world (37.8 km [23.5 miles]).

Mallaghan, a global leader in the manufacturing of airport ground support equipment, has supplied seven new TA8200 Deicers to Aer Lingus for this winter, adding to its current fleet of Mallaghan Deicers already in operation. The investment will increase operational efficiency and reliability in the deicing process in cold winter conditions. #aviation Read more: https://lnkd.in/eKsvCqJW

A big day for transport! The Passenger Railway Services (Public Ownership) Bill received Royal Assent and is now law. This fires the starting gun on bringing the private sector operators into public ownership. And in Leeds, Louise Haigh MP launched the Integrated National Transport Strategy. A real opportunity for a clear strategy focused on people, how they travel be it in cities, towns or rural villages, making travel across modes seamless, and enabling decisions to be made closer to the people transport serves.

Did you know trains have the right of way at road crossings 100% of the time? Trains can’t swerve or stop quickly–that's why it's imperative that you obey all crossing signs and signals. Never try to beat a train. Your life is worth the wait. #SeeTracksThinkTrain #RailSafetyWeek #StopTrackTragedies #CrossingSafety

We also hope that there will also be a conversation about our LSM TrainSense™ (Int. pat. pend.) technology is the solution to avoid such HPI / Collision events where warning signs, penalties and impact barriers do nothing to mitigate such catastrophic events. LSM TrainSense™ requires no other intervention and provides the Driver with Alerts when approaching Level Rail Crossings, whether they are active or not. AEB can also be integrated into LSM TrainSense™. #lsmbridgesense, #lsmtrainsense #bridgeengineering #bridgesense #bridgeimpact #bridgedesign #bridges #bridgecollision #teamlsm #railwaysafety #technology #innovation #creativity
