The Celestial Earth was named the winner of this year’s Net Zero Progression of the Year, APAC award for its work in helping Indian states and cities to achieve their net-zero targets by 2050. The Celestial Earth has owned the Sustainable Company Awards 2024 for Net Zero progression of the year, APAC. The Gurugram Climate Action Plan 2050, developed by TCE, has been praised for its ambitious approach to achieving net zero emissions, economic growth, and environmental protection among many others, in Gurugram. The plan targets four key sectors: energy, transport, waste, and AFOLU (Agriculture, Forest, and Other Land Use). The plan also establishes monitoring mechanisms to track progress towards the targets. The Celestial Earth's Founder and CEO Tania Bhattacharya, and Executive Director Anindya Bhattacharya, believe the award validates their commitment to sustainability and inspires them to continue their mission of reaching net-zero goals both domestically and globally. Embrace Renewable and Efficient Energy Solutions: Transitioning to renewable energy like solar and wind is a powerful step towards independence from fossil fuels. Even smaller actions, such as using energy-efficient appliances, installing solar panels, or simply turning off unused lights and devices, significantly reduce our environmental impact. These are not just choices but necessities for a sustainable future. 2. Rethink Our Travel and Consumption: Every day, our choices in transportation and diet shape the planet. By choosing public transport, biking, or walking, we cut down on emissions substantially. Carpooling or switching to electric vehicles offers another layer of impact. Moreover, opting for locally sourced and sustainable food minimizes the emissions from transport and reduces the strain on our ecosystems. 3. Advocate and Educate: The battle against climate change is not just about personal choices but about collective action. By raising awareness and pushing for sustainable policies, we can amplify our impact. Engaging in community efforts and advocating for green policies are pivotal. Educating ourselves and others about the urgency of these actions encourages a wider shift towards sustainability.
