3moBRYAN T KELLY you guys are great. I’ve had nothing but good things to say but one thing I hope you listen to is re: discharging patients on a Friday. December 2021 I had TKR performed by Dr. Strickland. We all know there were a lot of blips in the postop surgery. One of the things that could’ve been avoided was not agreeing to wheel me past the main entrance to E. 71st St. like I asked. I explained to Maureen, the nurse who insisted I call Uber or Lyft from the floor I was on if I do that - by the time I get downstairs, the line is going to be backed up to York Avenue w no room to back up or go ahead. Because of many things that should not have happened, I released at approximately 5 PM on Friday. One of the other nurses took me down to the lobby so I could get a car. Which I’ve always done in the past. Waited about 15 minutes because of the traffic, access a rides, and so on. By the time the driver came I was already in pain due to the medication wearing off. He tried every road possible, but the traffic was unbearable. I had nothing until I got home to go to the drugstore. I understand liability but technically wheeling a patient to the end of the driveway should still be on your property.
