📢 We recently had the pleasure of participating in two remarkable events: the HR Rangers 🦸♀️ 🦸♂️ Conference and Impact CEE 2024. Here’s a quick summary of our experiences and takeaways:   𝐇𝐑 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 Our team attended the HR Rangers Conference, a dynamic event dedicated to tackling the toughest challenges in HR. The conference featured insightful sessions on recruitment and selection, technology in HR, and maintaining wellbeing among HR professionals. We were thrilled to engage in discussions about the role of AI in HR and the innovative solutions that are transforming the recruitment landscape. A special shoutout to the organizers, Filip Sobel, Damian Wójcikiewicz, Daniel T., and Łukasz Półchłopek, MBA, for hosting such an impactful event. The conference was not only informative but also a great networking opportunity.  𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐂𝐄𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 Impact CEE 2024 in Poznań was another highlight, bringing together thought leaders and industry experts to discuss the evolving role of AI across various sectors. The discussions also highlighted emerging trends in healthtech and sporttech, showcasing how hybrid solutions and AI-enhanced mobile apps are set to improve quality of life. We’re excited to bring back the knowledge and connections we’ve made at these events and look forward to implementing new insights into our work. 🌍✨ In #Slush2023, there are over 1,000 meetings every hour! 😨 From all corners of the globe, people are pitching, networking, and trying to close deals. But there's a silent player in every conversation: Culture. 🌐 If you don't understand the other persons' cultural behavior, it's friction in the sales process. This is the same reason why #expansion in #Europe is difficult as well. Here are some business culture differences quickly explained to help you out in Slush! 🍇 🇫🇮 Finland: Direct and practical. Don't waste time, get to the point quickly. Minimize fluff in conversations. 🇯🇵 Japan: Indirect and respectful. Talk and read between the lines. There are a lot of unspoken norms, which you should try to respect. 🇸🇪 Sweden: Polite and consensus-oriented. Swedes value politeness and make decisions through collaboration. Be stylish, not arrogant. 🇩🇪 Germany: Hierarchical and detail-oriented. Germans appreciate a structured approach with clear hierarchies. Focus on precision and thoroughness. 🇳🇱 Netherlands: Direct and egalitarian. The Dutch are known for their straightforward communication and value equality in discussions. Like finnish people, but for a Finn they might come out a bit rude. 🇩🇰 Denmark: Informal and quite practical, but still equalitarian. A weird mix of Swedish and Netherlands. 🇪🇪 Estonia: Straightforward and innovative. Estonians are known for their direct communication style and pragmatic approach. Maybe the biggest lesson here is to just remember that we expect different things. How Finns try to create trust in Finland, might come out quite insulting with people from Japan or Sweden. 🤡 So remember to tune in your cultural radars 😉 Do you agree, or have different experiences? 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐑𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 Already in 2014, Rainer Strack, one of the most profilic human resources experts, spoke at TEDX in Berlin about "The Workforce Crisis of 2030". One of his key intro slide was showing the German Age Pyramid and how it will develop until 2030. He suggested that countries ought to look across borders for mobile and willing job seekers. Today, we are 10 years later, a lot of companies and also Western economies really start to experience the shortage of labour. Finally, employers and countries start looking abroad. Only fishing in the existing limited local pond will not solve this issue. For the next six years to come - until the peak of the pyramid is reached - the situation will only become more tense. This is one of the reasons why companies plan to invest more and more into #HRTech and why we also see a lot of investments in this space. Yesterday, together with 💡Joanna S. we had great pleasure to attend HR & Talent Trends forum organized by the British Polish Chamber of Commerce (BPCC). Following interesting presentations and an even more inspiring panelist discussion, steered by the remarkable Agnieszka Kulikowska, I'm thrilled to see how our company IPF Digital silently but powerfully aligns with and even pioneers presented trends. Key mentioned trends: 1. Increasing importance and expertise of Polish Global Business Services Since almost 10 years IPFD HUB Poland stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence. With a diverse pool of experts spanning IT, Finance, Marketing, and Product areas, we embody the essence of a global business center, right in the heart of Poland. 2. Continuous Upskilling and Innovation At IPFD, learning never stops. We embrace experimentation and are unafraid to fail if it means we're growing. The fact that 35% of our colleagues from IPFD contribute to the global AI community within International Personal Finance Plc is a testament to our commitment to upskilling and innovation. 3. Diversity in Action While diversity was a prominent topic at the conference, for us, it's not just talk— it's ingrained in who we are since I remember. We don't focus on labels; instead, we celebrate individuality and expertise. With females constituting 36% of the IPFD global management board and a majority in our Polish entity with Joanna Izdebska as our President of the board, we showcase genuine gender diversity in leadership team. In conclusion, I recall statement from one of the panelists at the conference (Magda Dziewguc President of Google Cloud) — a wish for all of us to work at companies where we can walk with confidence, regardless of the shoes we wear. I'm grateful that I can truly "bring myself to work" at IPF Digital.
