New York City’s NYC Department of Social Services, NYC Human Resources Administration, and the NYC Department of Homeless Services deliver billions of dollars in goods and services each year. Many of our programs are delivered directly by our employees, but much of the work we do is in partnership with our Human Service Providers, Non-Profits, and Community-Based Organizations. Our M/WBE Program Team works closely with these organizations to build contract pipelines that offer opportunities for the City’s Minority- and/or Women-Owned Business Enterprises to join us in our shared mission to support those in need. Matchmaking is one of our most important tools for supporting local business development and bringing M/WBEs into the service of our client community. In this month’s M/WBE In the Mix, we meet Alyssa Sanchez-Cook of Samaritan Daytop Village, Inc. who understands the value of a good conversation. If you’re an M/WBE, or think you might qualify for certification, please email us at mwbe@dss.nyc.gov or visit our M/WBE Resource Page at https://lnkd.in/gaKF7NPe. We’d be happy to connect you with information about resources, upcoming events, and opportunities to contract with us and our partners.

Three words we live by at Impression Point. Service, partnership, and community. ↪Service means going above and beyond for your customers, providing exceptional experiences that keep them coming back. It also means helping local businesses and non-profits in need and giving back to the community that supports us. ↪Partnership is about working with clients, colleagues, or vendors to achieve common goals. We're not about transactional relationships — we want collaborative effort toward success. ↪Community comes down to supporting and uplifting those around us. It also means creating a sense of belonging for our customers and fostering a strong bond between our brand and the surrounding neighborhoods and towns. Let me know if you have any questions about our values and how we incorporate them into everything we do. #Service #Partnership #Community #LocalBusiness

Rural Development Enthusiast, Remote Work/Work from Home Coach, Grant Writer, Community Teams Coach, Project Manager
What does it mean to build #capacity in small, #ruralcommunities? It might mean better community engagement. But in many of the communities the NCRPC serves, it really means technical expertise and man hours to implement projects. With limited city and non-profit staffing, passionate volunteers can be overwhelmed as they try to find the time and knowledge needed to access funding. They need boots on the ground to amplify volunteer commitment. Many city clerks now hold that position as a side gig, retired people fill the vacuum to act as their town's water system operator part-time, community foundations may have no staff beyond a volunteer board of directors. We need a new model that solves these issues with a collaborative approach.

We know folks often don't have the privilege of calling out their potential future employer, so we're here to be that annoying Aunty who won't stop asking about when you're going to patch up that damn hole in your jeans. Oh, is that only us? Well, anyways, help us get the word out that we're here to call out nonprofits who fail to share a salary line, will ya? https://lnkd.in/ejveX8-Z #SocialImpact #NonprofitJobs #JobOpportunities #PayTransparency #FairPay #NonprofitWork #NonprofitLeadership #SocialJustice #WorkWithPurpose #InclusiveHiring
