What are the physical sensations of trauma and could you be experiencing them? Does your body feel tense? Do you feel numb? Do you startle easy? Does your body tingle? Do you struggle for breath sometimes? Do you get heart palpitations or chest pain? Do you feel restless? Do you feel on the edge a lot? Do get bursts of intense energy? Do you feel a knot in your stomach? Do you get dizzy spells? If you recognise one too many of these physical sensations, you could be experiencing a trauma response. That doesn't mean you've definitely had a big dramatic event in your life but it does mean there was a moment when you felt overwhelmed and out of control. This overwhelm created a physical response and imprinted itself on your nervous system. This trauma then shows up when you least expect it. Just like this 👆 You can free yourself of these sensations and get the fun back. Don't live in the dark. Ask for help.
