How do you treat your Housekeeper at Home? Housekeepers are essential workers who provide valuable services to many households. They deserve respect, dignity, and fair compensation for their work. However, not everyone treats their housekeepers well. Some people exploit, abuse, or neglect their housekeepers, violating their human rights and dignity. How we treat our housekeepers reflects our values and ethics. It also affects our relationships with them and the quality of their work. Therefore, it is important to treat our housekeepers with kindness, gratitude, and professionalism. Here are some tips on how to do that: - Pay your housekeeper a fair and competitive wage. Consider the cost of living, the market rate, and the skills and experience of your housekeeper. Pay them on time and in full. Avoid withholding or deducting their pay for unreasonable reasons. - Respect your housekeeper's privacy and boundaries. Do not invade their personal space or belongings. Do not ask them inappropriate or personal questions. Do not make unwanted or offensive comments or gestures. Do not touch them without their consent. - Respect your housekeeper's dignity and autonomy. Treat them as a human being, because that's who they are! not a machine or a servant. Recognize their skills and talents. Appreciate their efforts and contributions. Praise them for their good work. Give them constructive feedback and suggestions. Listen to their opinions and concerns. Involve them in decision-making and problem-solving. Empower them to grow and learn. - Be kind and friendly to your housekeeper. Greet them with a smile and a hello. Use their name and preferred pronouns. Show interest and care for their well-being. Ask them how they are doing and how their day was. Share stories and experiences. Laugh and joke with them. Be supportive and compassionate. Be honest and trustworthy. Be polite and courteous. Say please and thank you. By treating our housekeepers well, we can build a positive and productive relationship with them. We can also create a happy and healthy environment for ourselves and our families. We can also contribute to a more just and humane society. At www.nyumban.com we are cultivating a culture that treats housekeepers like the human beings they're! Join us to build a world that spreads love 💕

My friend John is a software engineer who works for a leading tech company in Silicon Valley. John loves his job, but he also loves to do something else in his free time: housekeeping. Yes, you read that right. John is a part-time housekeeper who offers his services to busy families and professionals in his neighborhood. He does everything from compound cleaning, babysitting, laundry, and more. He enjoys doing these chores because they help him relax, stay fit, and make some extra income. He also likes to meet new people and learn about their cultures and lifestyles. John is not ashamed of his side hustle. He is proud of it. He believes that housekeeping is not a job for the low class, but a job for anyone who has the skills, the passion, and the attitude. He says that housekeeping is a noble and rewarding profession that deserves respect and recognition. John is not alone in his thinking. He is part of a growing trend of people who are embracing housekeeping as a part-time or full-time career. These people are breaking the stereotypes and stigma associated with housekeeping, especially in Africa, where such jobs are often seen as for the unprivileged. They are showing that housekeeping is a valuable and dignified service that can benefit both the provider and the receiver. John is an inspiration to many people who want to pursue their dreams and passions, no matter what they are. He is a role model for those who want to challenge the norms and expectations of society, and create their own paths. He is a leader for those who want to make a positive impact in their communities, and in the world. John is a housekeeper, and he is proud of it. And so are we at www.nyumban.com #housekeeping #passion #career #mindset

I have always been a busy person. I run my own business, travel frequently, and have a large family to take care of. I love my life, but sometimes it can get overwhelming. Especially when it comes to keeping my house clean and organized. I have tried hiring different housekeepers in the past, but none of them met my expectations. Some of them were unreliable, some of them were dishonest, and some of them were just plain incompetent. I was frustrated and disappointed with the quality of service I was getting. That’s when I decided to try an online platform that connects housekeepers to employers. I was skeptical at first, but I decided to give it a shot. And I’m glad I did, because that’s how I found my dream housekeeper, Mary. Mary is everything I ever wanted in a housekeeper. She is punctual, professional, trustworthy, and efficient. She knows how to clean every corner of my house, from the kitchen to the bathroom, from the living room to the bedroom. She also knows how to handle my laundry, dishes, and trash. She even does some extra tasks for me, such as watering my plants, feeding my pets, and organizing my closets. She is not only a great housekeeper, but also a great person. She is friendly, respectful, and cheerful. She always greets me with a smile and asks me how my day was. She also gets along well with my family and my guests. She is like a part of our family. I found Mary through Nyumban.com that connected me to her. The platform made it easy and convenient for me to find and communicate with her. Here are some of the features of the platform that I like: I can browse through a large pool of qualified and verified housekeepers who are ready to work for me. I can see their profiles, ratings, reviews, availability, and rates, and choose the ones that match my needs and budget. I can pay my housekeeper easily and securely through the platform. I can enjoy peace of mind knowing that my housekeeper is insured and bonded by the platform. I can also rely on the customer support team of the platform to assist me with any issues or questions I may have. Thanks Nyumban, I have found my dream housekeeper who makes my life easier and happier. Mary is not only a housekeeper for me, but also a friend. In recent years, there has been a concerning increase in cases of child kidnapping and mistreatment, often involving housemaids. These crimes, such as demanding ransoms from parents or other unknown motives, pose a significant threat to child safety. In December 2022, a distressing incident occurred in Nansana, Uganda, where the police successfully recovered a child who had been kidnapped by their housemaid, Sylvia Nakawuki, aged 16. Nakawuki disappeared with the 6-year-old child on December 8th and had been demanding money from the child’s parents, as reported by Chimpreports. In the same month, another housemaid in Jinja was arrested for alleged theft and an attempt to sell her boss' 3-year-old daughter for Shs 3 million. For working parents who entrust their children to housemaids, these situations can be incredibly worrisome. The safety of our children should always be a top priority. At Nyumban.com, we understand the paramount importance of providing parents with peace of mind when it comes to their toddlers' safety while they're away from home. We offer well-trained nannies who will care for your child as if they were their own. If you're seeking trusted and reliable nannies, visit www.nyumban.com today to explore our services and find the perfect caregiver for your family.
