Our members are multitalented! Nick Clements, YourQS Limited founder and winner of the Digital Technology | Matihiko Award at our 2024 NZ Building People Awards has launched a new podcast "Beyond the Guestimate", which focuses on how we can improve residential construction. Nick says: “I’ve been in the residential construction sector since 1993 and pretty much the whole time I’ve been frustrated by the inefficiencies in it, so the ethos of our business is finding a better way and constantly improving what we do and how we do it. Over this time, I’ve met a lot of interesting people who also share a similar passion for improvement in the sector so I thought I’d create a podcast, Beyond the Guesstimate, as a platform for us to share our ideas on how we think things could be done better." In the first episode of the podcast Nick talks with Brent Chatterton from Chatterton Homes in Rangiora, and an advocate for continuous improvement and high performing houses in New Zealand. https://lnkd.in/gFKYmiTD Nick Clements

It’s interesting to note that rental listings nationwide are up 40%, but Hamilton bucks the trend with an increase in listings of just 10%. This shows how buoyant our local market continues to be, and should be welcome news to many investors. In this update I also cover the impact the return of investors has had on the property market locally, and provide an outline of some important updates the government has made regarding the building of granny flats and ancillary dwellings on owner-occupied property. Finally, we want to know your burning questions on all things property for an upcoming podcast episode. If there’s anything you’ve been wanting to ask, comment here or flick me an email – jasonw@lodge.co.nz
