With Work-from-home and remote working now being recognised by job boards and platforms like Seek.co.nz, we are saying working from home is both a skill to be mastered and a benefit. 🤨 So, when will LinkedIn jump on the bandwagon and add it as a new skill? And if it is a new skill many of us have developed over the COVID period, when will we start representing this in our CVs and resumes or should we be doing this already? Talent Connection is here to partner with you and show you how. We recommend that you highlight your skills relative to the job opportunity. With this said if the opportunity is remote, start showcasing where you experienced ‘working from home’ and the skills you developed from this experience today. ⚠️ Remember if you apply to a company that has been clear due to the nature of the work or the role that it is based onsite, by applying you are confirming you are happy with being onsite. Getting to the end of a recruitment process and asking an employer to adjust their views on work-from-home can be a difficult negotiation, though not unachievable. #workfromhomenegotiations #onsiteworking #workingfromhomeskills #workfromhomebenefits #workfromhomeCVs

🌟My Journey in 2024: Embracing Remote Work Opportunities 🌟 This year has been a transformative one for me as I embarked on a journey to better position myself in the remote job market. I joined an incredible remote job academy earlier this month, and the experience has been nothing short of enlightening. In just three weeks, I've gained invaluable insights: 🔹 Week 1: I learned the fundamentals of remote jobs and effective strategies for securing them. 🔹 Week 2: We focused on crafting standout resumes and compelling cover letters. The knowledge I've gained here has already boosted my confidence in presenting my professional story effectively. 🔹 Week 3: This week was all about LinkedIn optimization. I now understand the importance of a well-curated LinkedIn profile in attracting the right opportunities and networking with industry professionals. This journey has been incredibly educational, providing me with so much value. I am deeply grateful to and Alice Awobite-Joshua and ATC Academy their unwavering support and guidance throughout this process. Excited for what lies ahead and eager to apply these learnings to advance my career in the remote job market! #RemoteWork #CareerGrowth #LearningJourney #LinkedInOptimization #RemoteJobs #ProfessionalDevelopment

Thinking outside-the-box helps us stand out in our remote job search. Let’s strive to be original. It’s true most job postings receive 100’s of applications. However, we still have hope. Many of those candidates simply hit “quick apply” or send generic applications. So, how can you stand out from the pack and break through the noise? Here are 4 ways to stand our in our remote job search: ✅ Connect with the recruiter. Rather than only applying online, find a few decision makers and reach out via LinkedIn. ✅ Get a referral. Search for second level connections that can introduce you directly to a hiring manager or decision maker. ✅ Build a brand. When we optimize our LinkedIn profile and build a brand, we can attract the right opportunities. ✅ Engage strategically. Use LinkedIn filters to find the right content to engage with. (specifically those with “hiring now” on their profile) These are just a few ways to stand out, and there are so many more. The clients who use these outside-the-box strategies see a 300% increase in interviews. It’s something we talk about inside the Remote Dream Job Masterclass. Hardly does a month pass without my coming across such a post 👇: "Why do the people with remote jobs gatekeep how they get them?" I have talked to over 200 people with remote jobs, and the answer is it's because they've told countless people what to do, spent hours giving them all the resources and information needed to succeed, and then saw them quit because "it's too hard." I have personally spoken to over 200 people in our free remote job consultation (Book your spot here: https://lnkd.in/dj95zn-r) and only 20% of them have taken the recommended steps. Of the 20%, 15 already have remote jobs, and 11 have very promising interviews. It's not impossible to get a remote job, but it is going to be difficult! Yes, you will have to make applications weekly, do tests, face rejection emails, and go through 5-round interviews. But that's exactly what every other person working a HIGH-PAYING remote job, with FANTASTIC benefits, flexibility to work ANYWHERE in the world, gets to spend more time with family, hobbies, and fitness, had to go through! So here is what you can do: 👉 Keep applying: Set a target for weekly applications. 👉 Prepare for tests: Many remote jobs require skill assessments. 👉 Embrace rejections: Use them as learning experiences. 👉 Ace interviews: Practice common questions and stay confident. Remember, the remote job market is competitive, but the rewards are worth the effort. Need help navigating this journey? Contact me at brianmwithi@gmail.com or +254740297050 to book a free consultation call. Let's work together to create ATS-friendly CVs and resumes, revamp LinkedIn profiles to attract recruiters, and build online portfolios that showcase your skills and experiences, making you stand out in the competitive remote job market.
