Very pleased to share today the closing of a significant and over-subscribed financing for T2 Metals Corporation (TSXV: TWO). Yes, markets are tough, financing isn’t easy, but strong assets and technical teams are being rewarded. This raise places us in a position for further success. I engaged with many current and potential shareholders during the financing and the key conversations gave me insight into the mood of the market across North America, Australia and Europe. T2 Metals ticks many boxes for the questions and concerns that are front of mind for investors: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐲? T2 Metals explores for copper, with a sweetener of gold and zinc.  While the battery metals message has softened, I found unanimous support for #copper and #gold as growth metals. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤? Our key asset is in #Manitoba, right in the heart of Canada. It’s a strong mining province with mines that have operated for more than 100 years. We have received over $500k in direct funding from the Manitoba Govt and have a strong relationship with the Kiciwapa Cree. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫/𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩? Its high, and I was happy to sign a $150k cheque in this financing to ensure I wasn’t diluted. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠? T2 Metals had 29m before this raise, now just over 40m. 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬? This was a great question often repeated. We upscaled the financing a little to ensure we can commit to the process of discovery, not rely on a lucky hole. Codelco, Chile’s state-owned copper miner and the world’s largest producer, issued two tranches of debt last week, albeit at higher interest rates than several other recent sales. As several analysts interviewed by Bloomberg recently stated, debt buyers are willing to finance Codelco’s new projects, but these creditors remain leery about Codelco's growing debt pile. S&P Global recently stated, “There’s no clear direction and the company is losing profitability and volume, and that makes it more vulnerable to price drops. A financing package of up to US$456 million (A$680 million) could be on its way to American Rare Earths Limited (ASX:ARR, OTCQB:ARRNF) subsidiary Wyoming Rare (USA) Inc to fund the Halleck Creek Project in Wyoming, courtesy of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). The company has received a non-binding Letter of Interest from EXIM for a potential debt financing package to fund the construction and execution phase of the Cowboy State Mine at Halleck Creek. EXIM is the official export credit agency of the US Federal Government and the package is part of the government’s Make More In America Initiative, designed to support US exporters and create domestic jobs. The amount is expected to support the entire initial capital expenditure for the project, with a proposed payback period of 15 years. Shares in Pensana Plc (LSE:PRE, OTC:PNSPF) rose 16% after it announced significant progress in securing debt financing for its Longonjo rare earths project in Angola, revealing the negotiation of a non-binding term sheet with a consortium of lenders for $156 million. Once secured, the funding will help bankroll the development of the mine, including its flotation circuit and refinery. The finance facility is structured to offer up to 50% participation among the lending parties and is designed to span the construction phase and subsequent ramp-up to full production, extending to a maximum tenure of seven years. The execution of this facility is contingent upon securing guarantees from the relevant export credit agency, discussions for which are reportedly in advanced stages. Debt financing of mining projects is carried out by concluding a loan or credit agreement. The loan can be bilateral or syndicated (when several financial institutions join forces to minimize risks). The latter is the case when it comes to large mining projects or significant resources. For this reason, commercial banks prefer to join the financing of mining projects at a later stage.
