As we commemorate the 2024 International Youth Day , I would like to celebrate the youth behind the Youth Engagement in Agriculture Network (YEAN) in Rwanda. These young individuals are creating jobs for youths to provide private extension and advisory services to smallholder farmers. For instance, YEAN has established two agribusiness incubation and innovation hubs in Kigali under the #AIRTEA project. These hubs serve as spaces for agricultural innovation, incubation of agribusinesses, production of extension materials for good agricultural practices, skills development, mentorship, peer-to-peer learning, and internships for fresh university graduates. I highly recommend YEAN if you are interested in partnering with a social enterprise that empowers youth to transform agri-food systems through provision of low-cost agricultural mechanization, affordable agricultural and advisory extension services, and training in modern hydroponic/screenhouse farming in Rwanda. Take a virtual tour of the agribusiness incubation and innovation hub at the UNILAK (University of Lay Adventists of Kigali) 👉https://lnkd.in/dMJUv9ez Join us in recognizing the efforts of Etienne NIYIGABA, Arcade Nshimiyimana, Merveille Uwineza, and Cecile NIYIREBA for taking a bold step in venturing into agriculture and making significant strides. In partnership with Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board, UNILAK (University of Lay Adventists of Kigali), Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa, Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa - FARA, Eastern Africa Farmers Federation (EAFF) Supported by: European Union, Secretariat of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and OACPS Research & Innovation Programme With Kwaku Antwi (PhD), Hillary Cheruiyot, Benjamin Abugri, KARANGWA Janvier, Christophe Mupenzi (PhD), Florence Uwamahoro. #internationalyouthday #MINAGRI #YPARD #MultiStakeholderPlatforms
