What does "dignified" really mean when it comes to food access? At Food Stash Foundation, we believe dignity goes beyond simply providing food—it’s about creating an experience that prioritizes respect, choice, and inclusivity. Here’s how we bring this vision to life: 🍎 Prioritizing Choice: We listen to our Rescued Food Box members' dietary restrictions and preferences. ⏰ Respecting Time: Our Market members receive time slots so they don’t have to wait in long lines. 💳 Breaking Barriers: No ID or proof of need is required to access our programs—just come as you are. 🚚 Supporting Partners: Community partners build relationships with our drivers to select food that fits their specific programs. Want to learn more about how we’re reducing food waste and ensuring dignified access to rescued food? Visit us at https://lnkd.in/gq5F_585 #FoodWaste #DignifiedAccess #FoodRescue #FoodStashFoundation

Independence Day is synonymous with cookouts, family, friends, and fun. But an important aspect of these gatherings often goes unnoticed: Food waste. The 120 MILLION POUNDS of food wasted could provide 2 meals for each of the 44.2 million individuals experiencing food insecurity in the U.S., according to ReFED. This food will contribute more than 500,000 metric tons of CO2 to the environment while it sits in landfills. Help celebrate Independence Day in a way that honors our county's legacy while preserving it for future generations. In celebration of World Food Day, we took a moment to ask our community members what their favorite dish is from our soup kitchen—and their responses warmed our hearts. Each meal we serve not only provides nourishment but also brings people together, fostering a sense of belonging and care. World Food Day is a global call to action, reminding us of the urgent need to end hunger and ensure food security for all. At the Millennial Mindset Foundation, we are deeply committed to making a sustainable impact, one meal at a time. By providing nutritious food to those in need, we aim to fight food insecurity and uplift our community. Every dish prepared in our soup kitchen reflects our mission to address hunger at the grassroots level, turning simple meals into powerful tools for change. On this day, let’s remember that access to food is a fundamental human right. We encourage everyone to take part in creating a more equitable and hunger-free world. Together, we can create sustainable growth, promote a mindset of empathy, and foster community-driven solutions for long-term impact. #MillennialMindsetFoundation #WorldFoodDay #EndHunger #FoodSecurity #Nonprofit #CommunityWork #GrowthMindset #SustainableImpact #HungerRelief #FoodForAll

Food: A Blessing We Often Take For Granted It's easy to forget how fortunate we are to have access to food, especially when we're surrounded by abundance. But the reality is that millions of people around the world go to bed hungry every night. Why should we be thankful for food? It sustains life: Food provides the energy and nutrients our bodies need to function. Without it, we simply cannot survive. It brings people together: Sharing meals is a fundamental part of human connection. From family dinners to festive feasts, food brings us together and strengthens our relationships. It nourishes our souls: Food can be a source of comfort, joy, and celebration. It can evoke memories and create lasting experiences. How can we show our gratitude? Appreciate every meal: Take a moment to savor the flavors and textures of the food you eat. Avoid food waste: Plan your meals, store food properly, and compost food scraps whenever possible. Support local farmers: Choose locally sourced, seasonal produce to support sustainable agriculture. Give back: Donate to food banks or volunteer at local organizations that fight hunger. source internet #gratitude #food #hunger #givingback

We should always respect the food. Yesterday, I watched this video, and it made me so emotional. 🥹 This is a reminder of how fortunate we are to have access to food and how deeply many people long for just a basic meal. This experience has led me to reflect on the importance of respecting food and recognizing the profound gratitude we should feel for having enough to eat. It is our duty to not only cherish the food on our plates but also to contribute to reducing food waste and supporting initiatives that aim to alleviate hunger. Simple acts, such as mindful eating, avoiding excess, and donating to food banks, can make a significant difference. Each action we take, no matter how small, contributes to a broader effort to ensure that everyone has access to the nourishment they need. 👏 let us respect the food we have and be grateful for the abundance in our lives. 🙏 🙏 #RespectTheFood #Gratitude #FoodForThought #MindfulEating #FoodJourney #EndHunger #FoodInsecurity #FoodIsLife #SupportFoodBanks #linkedinlife #linkedinpost #engagement #linkedinforcreators #linkedintopvoices #like #comment #share

⚠️ We have just 24 hours left to ensure we get every single penny of Feedback’s £20,000 Big Give match-funding pot to play our vital role in creating a fairer food system that doesn’t harm people or planet. If you’re passionate about the issues we work on, then please give as generously to Feedback’s work as you can this Christmas – with that amount automatically doubled until midday tomorrow (Tuesday 10 December). The issues we work on – the ones which are close to your heart – aren’t always easy to raise money for. But that doesn’t mean they’re not incredibly important today, tomorrow and for future generations. The current food system is not delivering on today’s priorities. Rather than producing healthy, secure, nutritious food for all – while regenerating the natural world and mitigating global temperature rises – it is driving climate and ecological emergencies, and exacerbating global injustice. To address these challenges and carry out our mission, we combine investigative research, campaigns, community outreach and on-the-ground pilot projects for a better food system. We’re stopping food waste and feeding communities. We’re standing up to big food polluters. We’re exposing injustices on land in our oceans. Thank you to everyone who has given so generously so far.

Had a few moments this afternoon to catch up on some industry news, I read two thought-provoking articles in 'The Grocer' highlighting the urgent need to tackle food poverty. First, the government-funded Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) programme, run by the charity Meals & More (set up by Brakes), is set to end this year. As the Chancellor considers the upcoming budget, it’s critical that tackling child hunger during school holidays remains a priority. Another article discussed how The Felix Project is expanding its services, distributing surplus food directly to community organisations in London instead of through warehouses. This initiative not only helps combat food waste but also makes it easier for manufacturers to prevent excess food from going to landfill, addressing food poverty in the process. Both issues highlight the need for continued innovation and commitment to solving hunger and food waste in the UK. https://lnkd.in/en5FJt_r https://lnkd.in/et4P2Vqm #ChildHunger #FoodWaste #MealsAndMore #FelixProject #FoodPoverty
