The truck has been customized with an enclosed safety platform in the back and a stop/start buzzer to communicate between the crew setting the pattern and the driver. Maximize efficiency and speed with trailers featuring automatic sliding roofs—streamlined loading and unloading for faster logistics. Trailers with automatic sliding roofs are designed to enhance speed and efficiency in cargo handling. These innovative trailers feature roofs that can automatically slide open or closed, allowing for faster loading and unloading of goods, especially when dealing with oversized or top-loading cargo. The automatic mechanism minimizes manual labor, reducing delays and increasing overall productivity. This system is particularly beneficial in industries that rely on rapid logistics, such as construction or manufacturing. Additionally, it improves safety by reducing the need for personnel to work around heavy cargo. With the combination of automation and streamlined operations, trailers with automatic sliding roofs maximize operational efficiency, ensuring fast turnaround times and optimal use of transport resources. video rights : Respective owners DM for credits/removal #trailer #transportation #engineering #construction #technology #civilengineering #civilconstruction #engenharia #engenhariacivil #engenheiro #engenheirocivil #ingeniero #ingenierocivil

Towing Trailers with Engineering Plant Update Following a campaign led by JCB, there is an amendment in the regulations to allow engineering plant to tow trailers under specific circumstances. Originally, engineering plant including wheeled excavators and loaders were prohibited under the Road Vehicles (Authorisation of Special Types) General Order (STGO) to the towing of trailers on UK roads. However, the case was made by JCB in that advancements in towing safety and technology, coupled with the benefits of reducing carbon, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency meant that a Ministerial decision was made by the Department for Transport that allowed a derogation to The Road Vehicles (Authorisation of Special Types) General Order 2003, so that the towing of a trailer can be permitted for the activities of road construction, maintenance, and repair. To tow trailers under this derogation requires a Vehicle Special Order (VSO) that allows wheeled earthmoving machinery (engineering plant) to tow a trailer on the UK roads to transport certain attachments and materials with the towing machine. They will be allowed to tow trailers on all types of roads, except motorways, and are limited to a maximum speed of 20mph. The towing machine must also be road-registered and comply with all relevant parts of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986. The overall length of the combined machine and trailer must not exceed 8m and the trailer must bear the same number plate as the towing machine. https://lnkd.in/et5Xuf6q

Brand partnership • Ship Repair Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, Planner, Data Analyst, and QC Technician
The key objective is to complete as much work as possible at an early stage. This means the work can be carried out undercover, with good access, and with the mechanization of some processes. The benefits can be illustrated by considering the ratios of man hours spent in different stages of production. The figures quoted below can be considered to be typical, and others can be found, but the overall range is similar. For a given piece of work, such as welding two parts together or installing a pipe, the ratios of worker hours required for completion at different stages of the production process if the requirement is one hour at the sub-assembly stage are: Work stage: Worker hours Sub-assembly 1.0 Unit assembly 2.0 Block assembly 4.0 Ship construction 8.0 Afloat 12.0 Once the workers and equipment are in position, the actual task may take a similar amount of time, except where overhead work has to be carried out or otherwise in difficult conditions. However, extra time will be needed to move the workers and all the required resources to the work site, which can be relatively inaccessible on the ship. Portable services are required, and often some access equipment is needed. As shown in Fig. 1, the construction of the ship generally starts at the machinery space. This is so that work in that area is progress, and then the outfitting of what is usually the most complex space on a ship can begin as early as possible, as shown in Fig. 2. Most ships also have the accommodation block directly above the machinery, with the crew quarters, services, navigation, and other management requirements. Again, once the machinery spaces are completed, the accommodation block can progress as shown in Fig. 3. While the machinery and accommodation are completed, the rest of the ship, for a cargo ship, relatively straightforward steelwork with limited outfitting, can proceed at the same time. Fig. 1 shows the typical ship construction sequence. #shipbuilding #shipyard #ship #shipmaintenance #shipyards #shiprepairs

Transporting long I-girders requires precision, specialized equipment, and careful route planning. Transporting large and long I-girders, typically used in bridge construction, is a complex and carefully coordinated process. These massive girders can be over 100 feet long and weigh several tons, requiring specialized equipment and logistics. Heavy-duty trailers, often with multiple axles, are used to support the girder during transportation. To ensure stability and safety, the girder is securely fastened using straps, chains, or clamps. Transport routes are meticulously planned to avoid sharp turns, low bridges, and tight spaces. In many cases, escorts or pilot cars accompany the load to manage traffic and ensure the safe passage of the oversized cargo. The process demands skilled operators and careful planning to avoid damage or accidents. video rights : Respective owners DM for removal/credits #bridge #bridgeconstruction #engineering #construction #civilengineering #civilconstruction #engenharia #engenhariacivil #engenheiro #engenheirocivil #ingeneiro #ingeneirocivil

You encounter some extreme conditions working as a contractor for utility companies and as a result, you often need some unusual equipment to go with it. Machines of real imagination and impressive engineering. I've procured nearly every type of it to date with the help of local colleagues... Buckets, cranes, diggers, excavators, dumps, "man haulers"... Mounted on amphibious, track, or even airboat bodies. Stuff that looks like it belongs on another planet instead. If you can think of it, some entrepreneur in Louisiana or Florida most likely found a way to get it out over water. However, one of my favorite solutions they ever came up with was to simply rent a barge instead and drive their standard chassis mounted equipment right onto it. They towed it all on the water with the help of a tug boat called the Lil T and got their work done. I often think back on the Lil T, tugging its barge with transmission equipment on it, as one of the best examples of innovation hiding in plain sight. Sometimes you don't need new processes or designs... Sometimes you just need to rethink the ones you already have. Be more like the Lil T. #rentalmanagement #fleetmanagement #innovation #hidinginplainsight #tugboats #keepingthelightson #procurement
