At an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Monday, August 26th, Building Committee Members invited State and Town Officials, students and their families, and community members to explore this impressive $145M facility. Meet 𝗔𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱, one of our interns and an Environmental Science major at Ithaca College! This summer, Alyson joined our Environmental and Quality Control Departments and has been actively contributing to our sustainability projects. One highlight? Planting nitrate-absorbing plants in the settling ponds at Woodbury and New Milford quarries. Alyson's hands-on experience is showcasing the importance of environmental management in construction. We recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the long-anticipated renovation projects at Hindley, Holmes, and Royle Elementary Schools. This momentous occasion marks the beginning of a transformation that will see portable classrooms removed, new instructional spaces added, and upgraded facilities to enhance the learning experience for students. These renovations, costing over $101 million and partially funded by a state grant, promise to significantly improve the schools.
