This office was first launched at HHS in May 2022 and has been guided by the incredible expertise and leadership of Sharunda Buchanan, M.S., Ph.D. as interim director (She's also the Director of CDC/ATSDR's Office of Priority Projects, Innovation and Environmental Justice!) Along with Dr. Buchanan on your team, the Director will work with Dr. John Balbus , Office of Climate Change and Health Equity Director -- across OASH, HHS, and in partnership with communities and Tribes -- to advance environmental justice and health equity. Much thanks to Arsenio Y. Mataka for vision on launching this office early on.
