Dear Job Posters, Let’s set the record straight: if a job is listed as "REMOTE" but requires occasional office visits or proximity to an office, it’s a hybrid role, not fully remote. 🌍🏢 True remote work means no in-office presence is required. If there's any expectation to come into the office, even just occasionally, it’s a hybrid setup. Just a thought: I often come across job postings labeled as "Remote" on various sites, yet the job description specifies "Remote within xyz country." Should we consider relabeling these roles as "work from home/home-based" instead of "Remote"? In essence, "Remote" implies working from any location worldwide, while "work from home/home-based" indicates a specific regional limitation. Perhaps it's time for a more precise categorization on platforms like LinkedIn to align job titles with their actual scope. Employers no longer need to offer remote work. It’s a buyers market right now. If they need to fill a position…. They can write “We have job” in purple crayon and get 800 applicants. No joke. Attracting top talent is easy. Top talent has been laid off with the same zest as the people who’ve been dialing it in. Top talent is everywhere. Nothing makes sense anymore. We tell our clients to negotiate 1 or 2 work from home days when they get an offer. Sometimes they get it. When you have a line of people standing in line behind you who are willing to be on site 100% of the time…. You’ve lost your leverage. Smart employers have kept the option open. They know they get happier, more engaged, and more motivated staff when remote options are on the table. Seems like a no brainer. Cheers to any employer who cares about your need for balance, your family time, and your happiness. Ultimately they come out on top. #resumewriting #jobsearch #remote
