☀️ This morning I did something I’ve never done… I made my usual cup of coffee & then… I walked one block to the beach. 🏝️ ☕️ Simple…but my goodness does it have a HUGE, positive impact on my mentality, & it sets the tone for the day. 💪 We often talk about accomplishments & progress within the context of professional settings on this platform. But how often do we talk about “not doing anything” or R&R as a part of that progress? ⏱️ Perhaps, not often enough. 🗣️ I’ve had conversations lately about how in today’s society we have to essentially force ourselves to plan time in our schedules to relax. 📚 While being a full-time student in a rigorous & rewarding 10-month, Global MBA in a foreign country is ambitious, what I find additionally gratifying is the ability to take advantage of living in paradise, step back from the daily grind, & just breathe & enjoy the sunshine & sea. 🧘♀️ This week, I encourage you to take 20 minutes to go for a walk or just sit somewhere quiet & do as little as possible. You may find it helps you in unexpected ways. 🌊 For me, I just sit and listen to the song of the waves. & I realize: I want to be like them. I want to be strong, ever-changing, & make an impact on this earth. 😌 In order to do that, I need to rest first. 🎓 New Beginnings: with CEMS at HEC Paris 🚀 Two weeks ago, I began my CEMS Master in International Management at HEC Paris which in 2023, stands at #1 according to FT's ranking. This institution has been a crucible for transformative ideas and collaborations that have contributed to shaping the world today. Why CEMS? In an era marked by the rapid ascent of AI and technological evolution, leadership qualities are paramount. The ability to lead with empathy, foresight, and a profound grasp of global dynamics is essential in leveraging technology for greater impact. Yet, the challenges we face today extend far beyond technology. They demand adaptability, patience, and critical thinking. The essence of this program can be likened to our disruptive times, with each semester introducing a new context, much like the changing seasons. This immersive approach has already pushed me beyond my comfort zone, paradoxically making uncertainty a friend and a source of opportunity. In May 2024, we delivered a dual-destination study program to 16 Executive MBA students from Drexel University's LeBow College of Business in Copenhagen, Denmark and Stockholm, Sweden.
