Recently I visited Malabar coast and as I saw the waves touching the shores, a disheartening truth unfolds beneath the surface— neglect, apathy, and the silent suffering of our oceans.
My recent visit to this picturesque region revealed more than just the beauty of the coastline; it laid harsh reality of ocean pollution, a pressing issue that demands our immediate attention and collective action.
The Malabar coast once a pristine blue waters and black sand on beaches with amazing biodiversity, now bears the scars of our disregard for the environment. Plastic waste, discarded fishing gear, and other pollutants kills the very essence of this natural wonder. It is dismaying to witness the sea, a source of life and livelihood for countless communities, being transformed into a dumping ground for our negligence.
Single use plastic has created nuance beyond expectations.
It is not too late to reverse the tide of pollution, but we must act swiftly and decisively.
Embracing responsible waste management, reducing single-use plastics, and supporting initiatives that promote ocean conservation are steps we can take to begin healing the wounds inflicted upon our marine ecosystems.
Let us heed the call of the Malabar Coast, a call for awareness, responsibility, and a renewed commitment to preserving the beauty and vitality of our oceans.

2moSharing a little win for Plastic Free July: Shopping at Costco, I was excited to see Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides are now sold in 80% paperboard rather than plastic containers. Glad to see paper-based packaging becoming more main stream and hoping to see more single-use plastics replaced with paper!
