Football isn't just a game; it's a classroom where nearly 100 young men learn the most important lessons life has to offer. An entire ecosystem of growth and opportunity. Teaching loyalty, teamwork, resilience, goal-setting, and accountability—qualities that are sadly scarce in today's world. For many, football is their lifeline. Without the guidance and support of their teammates and coaches, far too many would find themselves lost in the world of darkness that exists off the field and outside the classroom. In addition to running my own PR consulting firm, I have also been the GM of a non-profit travel baseball program - created in NYC six years ago to provide opportunities for all kids - regardless of economic status. Every year, the East River Sharks baseball program provides scholarships to kids from various parts of NYC who can't afford the cost of joining a travel baseball team. Many of our coaches are volunteers, and we rely on donations to keep the organization running and the kids on the field! Currently 70% of our players are on scholarship! This week, for 4 days only, we are raising money for our non-profit baseball program the East River Sharks! It is weird to post this on LI, but it is part of my world of work, and part of giving back. If you are corporation, we would love your sponsorship if you are looking for a worthy cause. Every two years, the Olympics captivate the world with compelling stories of triumph and heartbreak, perseverance and glory, and communities and countries coming together. As we approach storytelling for our P2P events and campaigns, what can we learn from this? Just as Olympic stories highlight the coaches and families who support the athletes, we can also share the stories of the donors who stand behind our fundraisers. Like the Olympics, which celebrate both major and minor victories—such as a country winning its first medal or a world record being broken—we can honor achievements of all kinds, from first-time fundraisers reaching their goals to top fundraisers setting new records. And just as the Olympics celebrate the collective power of teams and fans, we can recognize the incredible impact that occurs when our fundraisers unite to support our missions. VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE: 1.) TSU - I participated in Teens Speak Up with The Epilepsy Foundation to speak to congresspeople about upcoming issues that would effect the population of people with Epilepsy. 2.) AWARENESS - I coordinated an Epilepsy awareness volleyball game at Chapel Hill High School that raised money for The Epilepsy Foundation. We raised over $6000! 3) COACHING - I volunteered as a coach for younger kids learning to play volleyball. I taught the fundamentals to those aspiring to learn the sport I love the most.
