Tech Success Manager | Driving Innovation, Streamlining Processes, & Implementing Improvements | Events Speaker
You probably don’t want to revolutionize the quantum industry. But just in case you do, I’m looking for a few unassuming geniuses for roles that are only somewhat likely to redefine technology as we know it—in Spain and the Netherlands, no less. We need a Quantum Research and Development Engineer, Senior Quantum Design Engineer, Fabrication Engineer, Quantum Measurements Engineer, Experimental Quantum Engineer, and a Quantum Production Technician. Just your typical, everyday quantum wizards. Imagine spending your days not just pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, but completely obliterating them. But hey, if you prefer the mundane, there are plenty of other jobs out there that involve pushing paper and attending endless meetings about font choices. We're not looking for just anyone. We need people who understand that 'quantum' isn't just a cool word to throw around but a real commitment to being confused at a higher level and about more important things. What will your day look like? Decoding the universe’s secrets before lunch, revolutionizing technology in the afternoon, and maybe, just maybe, changing the world by dinner. If you think you can fit into a team that barely fits into the conventional dimensions of physics, then we need to talk. Yes, the fabric of reality is complex, but your decision to apply doesn’t have to be. Not ready to make history? That's fine; history isn't for everyone. But if you are, send me a message. Let’s make the universe sit up and take notice. #QuantumComputing #TechJobs #HiringNow #Innovation #EngineeringJobs #QuantumTechnology #CareerOpportunities #SpainJobs #NetherlandsJobs #ExperimentalPhysics #TechTalent

Great opportunities
There are two Ph.D. positions available for candidates who have knowledge of "both" discrete element methods (DEM) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for modeling granular (geo)particles and microgeomechanics. Candidates with a strong background in experimental modeling of granular particles are also welcome to apply. It is "required" that candidates have familiarity with open-source packages (not commercial software) and C++ programming. If you are interested, please email your CV along with a brief overview of your experience to tahmasebi[at]mines[dot]edu. #phdpositions #discrete_element_methods #computationalfluiddynamics #granular

Interested to get some thoughts from my network on job adverts in quantum computing, and the wider physics community. Something I’ve noticed a few times recently, are job ads filled with science/quantum related puns. Are you looking for a new superposition? Looking to make a.. big bang… ? Something something entangled… Something something..... quantum leap… 👀 In my opinion – they read like they’re written by a non-technical author who thinks scientists would find these puns hilarious. What do you think? #jobadverts #quantumcomputing #physics

We are #hiring. We have a unique #phd #position #in #signalprocessing for #communications. Background: Applicants should have, or expect to receive, a Master of Science or equivalent in a field related to #signal #processing or #communications, preferably connected to #multiantenna #signals. In this position, you will perform research on signal processing for emerging #radar- and #communication #systems with many antennas (#MIMO). At the start, the focus will be on the case when there is a strong #interfering signal that tends to overshadow the desired receive signal, and by #modeling #interferer and #physical #environment, and by #smart #receiver side #algorithms, we will find the best solution. More information: https://lnkd.in/dVaG9Byz Deadline: 2024-03-15 Questions can be directed to Prof. Thomas Eriksson Our X-account: @ChalmersComsys Read about working at Chalmers and social benefits: https://lnkd.in/dtx-Keqg https://lnkd.in/dD2xGaZw #mimo #electricalengineering #chalmers #phdposition #sweden #modeling #interferering #physical #environment #communications #job #opportunity #multiantenna #testbed #multiantenna

A physicist, a mathematician, and an engineer are all interviewing for the same job. The interviewer asks a simple question: "What's 1 + 1?". The physicists went on a rant about uncertainty principles and that there would be no way to know that you had exactly 1 of anything, but that he could give you a confidence interval if you gave him more information. The mathematician when on a rant about discrete numbers and concluded that, by definition, the answer was 2. The engineer said "Eh, let's call it 3".

A common reason I hear from physicists who are hesitant to leave academia is that they fear the work might be technically less interesting. I won’t address if these fears are substantiated – but it’s something worth thinking about if you’re interviewing a physicist for a role in your company. How do we overcome this objection? Give them an impossible tech test.... joke Dedicate a significant amount of the interview to discussing current and previous projects, potential future projects, IP, publications, academic partnerships, innovative solutions you’ve provided, and so on. It would also be worth discussing what the candidate may learn in their new role, and how this aligns with their ambitions. #hiring #physicists
